I think Madden and NCAA made the crowds/stadium worse this past iteration when moving to 60fps. So it wouldn't be unheard of.
It just doesn't make sense when you see photos with more detail and diversity. We will see I guess.

I noticed in Madden it seems they lowered the resolution from 720p to 640p or 680p, and just upscaled it. But the stadiums seemed the same to me. I dunno.

Ya never know with photos or what's done with them. I could be completely wrong as well and nothing will have to give moving to 60fps. It just seems like most games that have moved from 30 to 60 took some sort of hit to maintain a steady 60fps. Madden/NCAA were the first that came to mind.

Oh I agree ... I noticed right away Madden 08' was "less crisp" when I put it in. I had 07' still laying around, I popped it in and sure enough it was more "crisp". So the first thing that came to mind was they lowered the resolution. And it hurt the texturing and other things a bit.

Noticed it in PGR4 as well.

yeah, I didnt think that was fenway park looking in from center field, but it did run faster then 2k7.

No, the negative comments aren't talking the game up. No need to praise something that doesn't need praising. As long as all we see is 2K7 with more sig styles and a new pitching system, I don't see what I am supposed to be praising. 2K7 was a decent game after the patch and slider adjustments. But the game needs A LOT of improvements, and from every single video we've seen thus far, it doesn't look like they've made enough.

I am simply voicing my displeasure with what we've seen so far, especially after all the talking up Brinkman has done. Don't like negative comments? Tough stuff. I pay good money for these games. As long as 2K LA puts out sub par games expect me, and many others, to voice their displeasure.

But you haven't even played it!!! With all the under the hood gameplay changed they are boasting, it may feel completely different.

I know that, and I've said many times that the gameplay does seem better from the videos. All I have bashed up to this point are the "little things" in the game we've seen in videos.

Abreu having a Phillies cap, neither Hughes, Joba, or Chamberlain having real pictures, lame HR cutscenes, no HR celebrations, terrible crowd reactions, 3B still not reacting to some plays (been a problem since 2K5!), outfielders gliding along the wall after a catch, terrible bat sounds, horrible commentary, jerseys flapping in the wind like they were flags in a hurricane, ect.

I've never said the game isn't going to play well. We will only find that out when we get the game. But some of the people who have no choice but to get this game, get upset at every negative thing said about it. They defend it like a lioness defending her cubs.

Wow the signature stuff in this game looked really good.

If this game isn't good, they should hand the series over to Blue Castle. They got the Bigs right, right off the bat, so to speak.

Rob_NYY is right, you can screw with all the meters and interfacing you want, but if those new controls are just different ways of performing the broken mechanics of 2k7, forget it.

Let's not forget that 2k7 was supposed to be this giant leap forward, and then a month after it's release you've got Brinkman talking to publications about how the fielding mechanism "blows" and how they're going to get it so much better next year. No way I'm buying this without a demo or extensive play on a rental. It was broken last year, no matter how pretty it looked, or how much we wanted it to be not broken.

                            Did you play 2k6?

Because if you did then you noticed how giant of a leap forward 2k7 was compared to the travesty that was 2k6.

Trust me, everyone that thought 2k7 was garbage would think 2k6 was the worst thing programmed.

I'm not going to say that 2k7 was great. It had it's problem. It had many problems. But, you have to realize that 2k6 had nothing but problems.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
