No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8

I've been squandering to find videos of MLB 2K8, and during this squander, i found the Mets-Yankees videos on IGN.com. And one thing that really upset me as a Met fan and an avid baseball gamer, I didn't see CitiField behind the bleachers in LF. I'm just wondering, would 2K release a downloadable Shea Stadium with CitiField in the background, or will they just ignore it and make CitiField itself for 2K9.

While they can probably do that since they've already shown they can have downloadable stadiums, I wouldn't hold my breath. Of course, I'm just guessing here, but if they really saw it as that big a deal I think they would have included it the first time. Kind of a shame, too, as this would be pretty neat IMO.

For sure I'm not a Mets fan and I want it in there too. I'm very mad that the Twins traded Santana. I know I dont want to bring up the show but they have Citifield in the background. In one of the videos they show a crane swinging or something. I didn't want to bring that up but I had to.

And I bet the reason 2k8 didn't do the crane moving in the background is because you will probably be playing the Show, and be in the 2012 season and the crane will still be swinging the background. I don't know this for sure, but i haven't read anywhere that there is progressive backdrops to the show, as in they will have a finished scenery...

Yeah. That would bug me more than not having it in the game at all, actually. I've never seen so many people complain about NOT having to look at construction. It's still considered an eyesore, right?
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
                Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?

While I agree that a couple of year's into a franchise it would be a bit annoying to see the construction still going on, most people don't play more than a season. Heck most people don't even get through 1 season. And if they do play multiple seasons (since some people do) then they are usually not playing every game so it probably wouldn't be that bad. And in case they did play every game then I would venture to guess they wouldn't get through 2 full seasons before the next version is out.

I think it would be great if 2k and the Show was able to do a progressive background like that but I doubt it would be worth the time to do it. If you think about it, not many places have the background change very often. Unless of course there is a stadium being built in the background

I never thought that construction should be in the background of a stadium. But, I guess I can understand why people want it there.

I guess I've always looked at stadiums as needing to be timeless and not always sticking to a particular time period of a few months.

That's because you guys are not Met fans....if it was something to do with your stadium....you'd be all over it.

By the time I'm ready to get rid of the Citifield in construction backdrop....I'll be playing the game in Citifield in next years version.

I dunno. People are pointing out things in The Show demo (little things, I'd guess you'd say), and I'm not seeing excuses, or people trying to quiet them. Why? The devs read these boards and I'm sure they want to pick up, maybe correct things that we see are wrong, needs fixin', small gripes, things that need to be added, etc., etc. That's all good. We're paying for the game(s). We need to be the squeaky wheel.

I appreciate every little "complaint". Maybe some people don't have the tact to explain it right, but we need people pointing things out, however minor some people might think it is.

DudleyDoWright was respectful, so what's the beef?
