        Thanks! Listening now.

Edit: I like most of what I heard. But, there is one thing that bothers me. It's obvious that the focus of the game is geared toward a broader market. The sim junkies here may not be the target audience for 2K8. I think 2KLA tries to include features and game play elements that we would want, but they also have to make compromises so the game can appeal to a bigger market.

I can't blame them because this is a business. And when your company pays big bucks to have a license. The game better sell copies to justify the cost of said license. I think it's something we've seen in Madden. The more money involved in the making of sports video games the larger the target audience is going to get. And let's face it. I think OS only makes up about 1% (if that) of the buyers they are trying to target.

          Good find.

I like his comments about the meatball pitches. It seems as if you're having a good game on the mound (locating pitches, hitting spots, etc.) there is a lower probability of the batter hitting the occasional meatball 500ft.

Probably the BEST news I've heard on the game thus far, excellent interview. I can't wait to try out the new throwing controls. I'm a little disappointed when he talked about hits off the wall that resulted into singles.. maybe that can be tweaked?

Overall, the game sounds much improved over 2k7. There will be some rough spots, but I didn't expect a perfect game... just a fun, innovative game of baseball. MLB 2k8 sounds like it could be that.

Absolutely praising the throwing (the SA guy), saying it is the best he played in a baseball game, and glad they got it right the first time around.

It was a good interview, although it sounded like an old album.

yeah......i'm hearing that too.....especially when BB is talking about his batting & strikes/balls philosophy..'throw me strikes, i want to play baseball...not sit here & work the count" (at least on lower levels)

is a funny guy though (talking about santana player card)

Re: New interview with Ben Brinkman on The Sports Anomaly.

I love that when the guy brought up that he gave up too many HR's on meatballs, and asked if they toned it so back-to-back-to-back HR's aren't hit, and we get more doubles and singles, Brinkman studdered and bumbled his words.

                        "You just got really unlucky."
                        - Ben Brinkman

Give me a break. How hard is it to limit the amount of HR's in the game? It's been years and there are still HR's flying out of the park? Please! He then later stated that eventually you'll get good and start to hit a lot of HR's and then you can move up on difficulty. WHAT?! Why is it so hard for them to limit the HR's? Even on Pro, limit the damn HR's already.

Then when the guy brings up that the CPU throws too many strikes, Ben Brinkman states that when he plays a game he doesn't want to sit there taking pitches. Come on.

I am also disappointed on how they continue to make this game a mix of sim and arcade. Brinkman didn't sound to embracive of the term "hardcore sim" when the interviewer asked him about how The Show is a "hardcore sim." Leave the arcade junk to The Bigs.

On the positive side the fielding/throwing sounds awesome, and pitching still sounds fun. But there is just too much stuff that I am hearing and seeing that is making this sound like MLB 2K7 with updated rosters and a new pitching system. I was so freaking pumped for this game a few weeks ago, but the more I hear and see the more I'm getting down on it. I'll now wait for the demo to decide if I get this game or not.

                          Good:
Interviewer was super positive about Throwing system-offline throws etc. Pitching very challenging. Baserunning is much improved. Said that they increased the intensity level across the board and that Yankees-Bosox games should feel more special this year. Demo is in submission process, as soon as approved it should go out.

                          Negative:
Too many strikes thrown by CPU. Brinkmans answer, play on higher level than pro and there are sliders. Interviewer did mention previously that he was playing on all star. Fielders too large, hits off of the wall resulting in singles. Brinkman thought that the user should have tried for extra bases and wasn't running aggressively enough.

                          Not sure:
game pace is faster, felt last year was too slow. Earning cards-some very rare. Brinkman admitted the show had amazing presentation.

The more I think about it, the more I his comment from last year rings back... "This is a three year project."

Pretty tempting to hold off til' next year.
