Re: Heads Up: OS Sitting in on Ben Brinkman Conference Call
No. Do you think MLB pitchers TRY to walk batters? That's like saying that it's up to the human to give up hits and homeruns. I should be able to walk batters when I'm trying to get them out.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

So basically you're saying that even when you hit your spot you don't want it to be guaranteed to be in that spot? So more like The Show? For example in The Show with Beckett even if you're close to hitting your spot on the meter it goes a few inches in whatever direction.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: Heads Up: OS Sitting in on Ben Brinkman Conference Call
Ok, since I have appeared to confuse some people with my initial question " will the human controlled pitcher walk anyone this year?" Let me re-phrase the question.
Will we have pinpoint control over our pitchers to the point where we will not walk anyone? Historically, this has been the case. I do not want to have my pitchers throwing ALL strikes at will. Only two games have gotten human control pitching down and they were High Heat and The Show.
As to the quote above, I suppose if I WANT to walk someone that would be up the the human (me). But realistically we should walk batters from time to time while not wanting to.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

makes much more sense, and turns out to be a good question

Yea thanks a bunch. TJ and myself will pick 3-5 and hopefully we get to ask at least 2....

Also at some point every pitching mechanic becomes easy to perfect, so knowing even though you hit the spot or are very close won't mean it's perfectly placed every time.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: Heads Up: OS Sitting in on Ben Brinkman Conference Call
I think the point people are getting at is, if there's no sense of mystery in terms of if the next pitch is going to be in or out of the strike zone in a 3-1 or 3-2 count that's a downer.
