Is this really what this thread has devolved into - trying to read body language at the mention of the demo and if it was possibly edited out for conspiracy reasons?

Hey guys, I think I saw his glutes flex when they talked about pitching, which I interpret to mean he's nervous and uptight about the new pitching mechanic. When I rewatched the video, though, Gamespot cleverly edited in relaxed buttocks.

That's my point. I didn't see BB roll his eyes at the mention of the demo. Maybe it's me. But, it seems like we are reading too much from a simple gesture as looking away.

That's how the whole demo fiasco started. People read too much into a comment about when it would be released and ran with it.

Again, it's a case of people seeing what they want to see. People see something in EVERYTHING, if it relates to what they want to see.

This has def been one of the crazier video-game related threads I've seen on OS in a long time.

Ok guys lets keep the discussion about the demo, or lack of a demo and not about Ben Brinkman's body

At this point, I'd *love* to hear the reason why he thought the demo would be out in "early Feb" and now it seems we'll be lucky to have it before the game even shows. That's a real big miscalculation if you ask me. Obviously something went wrong; either in the making of the demo, or a major bug was found that was present in the demo.

I watched the spot video as well, and I have to say he definitely had a "Don't remind me about the demo" look when the mentioned it. It's surely a sore spot with him.

Is it me, or everytime a 2k producer gets interviewed about a sports title, Ben Bishop especially when talking about the NHL2k line do they absolutely look like they don't want to be there.

I have to disagree completely. Every developer knows that there is a *long* submission process for a demo with these two, so tell me again whose fault it is for not submitting a demo in time to clear that process and be available before release?

Ben Bishop would be happy just to EXIST.

That and when he talks about baseball and baseball games, he knows what he's talking about. I had the opportunity to attend the MVP '06 community day, back in the day, shortly before he left EA... and you felt like you could trust his expertise, he knew the little things about the game of baseball and why certain things did not work. The two project leaders of MVP were very helpful, friendly, and fun. When Brinkman went to work for 2K I totally changed my bleak outlook for the series simply because of how well he convinced me that he knew as much about applying real-life baseball to baseball videogames as anybody.

I wish we had a demo as well, but it doesn't make sense to release a demo well ahead of when the game is finished... you'll lose a lot more buyers than you would gain any.

Ben Bishop does exist. He is the producer/project manager for NHL 2K8.

Is there by any chance the demo not been approved. I don't know but maybe it takes up too much or something.
