Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
I think sony didn't release 2K's demo just so they could increase sales for The Show.Just look at the link, MLB 2k8 Demo rumored for March 6

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
HAHA you are right... And what i was saying before, if EA was building this there would be videos of the REAL 100% game. Videos on the Pitching machanics. Also ads everywhere on Gamespot... ign especially since the game comes out next week. Ads like PLAY THE DEMO blah blah blah. i just scratch my head especially since i work in Advertising and Marketing.. and to be honest i think they are not confident in their product. THe only thing they did right was have BEN going around explaing the game which is nice but there NOTHING TO LOOK AT, AT ALL!!.. give me a freakin break.
I'd probably say less of that. ^
and more of a money issue. I mean, come on, 2k is in financial trouble. Why market the game before the week it comes out? Sounds like a smart move to save money to me.Comment

2k8 has no marketing, they released 1 video, 1 freaking video for one of their biggest games.Comment

Actually, Madden 08 didn't have a demo before the game was out.Comment

I have never seen so many people acting like petulant little children in my life. That's not really directed at you, lived, but just a general observation.Comment

Or....(gasp)..maybe they can wait until the demo is out to play it and then make up their mind if they wish to purchase it or not. There is no rule that everyone has to rush out and buy it on the day it comes out.

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
When your shelling out 60 bucks a year for their product, I think you have a right to be "demanding". Ben Brinkman has admitted they "flopped" on the marketing this year so I don't know why some of your are trying to defend 2kComment

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
Yeah, but it is a bunch of crap that (2K, Sony and Microsoft) can't even get us a demo before the game actually comes out. We spend $60 on the game, that is the least they can do.Comment

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
They still have time to get us a demo before the game comes out, but I doubt they will.Comment

Yeah, I'm just a little frustrated as a PS3 owner that I probably won't have much of a chance to get a look at it.Comment

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
Play it when it comes out, and decide if it is worth your 60 dollars. You can be as demanding as you want, but it isn't going to make the demo come out any sooner. You "shelling out 60 bucks" is your choice, and if you can't be patient enough to wait until Microsoft/Sony decide to put the demo up, it is your own fault if you end up being truly disappointed. That may be just a wee bit too logical for you and others to fully grasp, but it is the truth.
My point had everything to do with most people around here acting like 7 year olds that got their first boner over a demo release date and nothing at all to do with defending 2K. For anyone over the age of 20, having demos period is a huge luxury. I fear there would have been mass suicides back in the 8 and 16 bit eras if people had been as overzealous as a lot of you are being.Last edited by SportsorDeath; 02-28-2008, 05:57 PM.Comment

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
I was wondering since so many people are waiting for this demo has OS, IGN, Gamespot and all the other sites been up Microsofts butt for a demo release date? I would think someone could get a dam answer about this. It just seems crazy tight lipped. Oh well, I'm off to work for a bit. Here is hoping it will be out before the weekend.Comment

Re: Does anyone have official word on the demo?
Did you even bother to really read what I typed? I am not defending 2K in any way. I am more of a Show fan than I am of 2K's series, even though I buy both every year. My point was that the demo doesn't HAVE to be out last week, today, tomorrow, or even next Monday. It will come out when it comes out. No one is forcing people to make a purchase decision on the day the games hit retail. Your post was like one of those "Zomg teh sky is teh falling!!!" things that insinuated that ps3 users would be up S&%$ creek if they couldn't play the demo before the game hits retail, when it just isn't the case at all.

Relax guys...it's no big deal. I want to start playing, too, but it's just a game.Comment
