What are you saying is happening?? I'm not sure I am seeing this??Comment

Re: Pitching example in Powerpoint
It doesnt recognize your first gesture so every pitch gets maxed out. If you want to see a clear example take the brewers and put Turnbow in right away. If you haven't seen it yet i promise you will sooner or later and it will ruin the game for you.Comment

It's an easy process, but not a clear process. You've helped make it clear. Well done!Comment

I still dont understand. I'm missing pitches and have no clue whyComment

Re: Pitching example in Powerpoint
OK, let's try to figure out why. What results are you getting? Are you trying this in the tutorial, and if so, let me know the numbers that pop up for effectiveness, gesture, and release. Really, what I want to know most is the release number, because that seems to be the part everyone has the most trouble with, simply because when you begin it can feel deceptive on why you got that number.Comment

Re: Pitching example in Powerpoint
Ok so for good effectiveness you start the second motion as soon as you hit the middle circle?
That might explain some of my problems....I was starting it after the middle circle. Was wondering why I kept getting 60% effectiveness despite holding the first motion for a while?Comment

Re: Pitching example in Powerpoint
It's going to depend on the pitcher and whether he is in the windup or the stretch. The closer it gets to the very outside circle, the higher the effectiveness is, but it makes it a lot tougher to hit your release point.
If I am out of the stretch, I like to actually begin my second gesture right at that first circle, as he shows in this powerpoint, knowing that it will take some amount of time to get the second motion all the way done, and by the time that happens, I'll be in a good position for the release.
BTW, you say that you're getting low effectiveness scores. Are your release scores good? I would actually try to get the release score really good consistently first, and then you can try to push the edge more and more to get a good effectiveness score. Release is still the biggest factor, imo.Comment

Re: Pitching example in Powerpoint
My release is good, in the tutorial i would get 90-100% consistently.
I think I found my problem, it's gesture......I'm getting a lot of 50-60%'s on breaking pitches. Too bad, I was pitching well against the White Sox, only 3 runs in 6 innings, then I just started to completely implode and I quit when I hit 10 runs given up.
This pitching system is fun and innovative, but it's REALLY pissing me off and frustrating me. Have to get the gestures down I guess.Comment

Re: Pitching example in Powerpoint
If someone knows how to make this into falsh or something simpler, feel free to.
This is a very simple explanation of how to pitch in MLB2K in simple Powerpoint graphics.
Took me about 5 minutes to make so use it if you like. It might help those who are struggling to figure out when to push each direction and when to release the stick.
