I'm definitely a fan of the new system.

Yeah, I was gonna say, what the hell's wrong with 92? lol

And I agree, I'm totally down with the new pitching. I just put the slider all the way to the left to get the hang of it. I haven't yet needed to move it to the right any (i.e., still a challenge).

I've got The Show and really like it but find the meter pitching system kind of boring. I'm seriously thinking now about picking up 2K8 for my 360 just for this analog pitching, especially since there's a workaround now to fix the framerate problems.

When you miss on pitches do they always end up as meatballs or do some of them miss outside of the strike zone? And are you getting fairly realistic pitch counts in games?

well 92 is my best, I generally average between 70-75. By the way, a splitter is really tough to do, so far the only guy I've used that throws it is Smoltz and I got like a 58 lol.

you don't have to make a perfect motion to throw a pitch correctly. meatballs most often result from holding the second gesture too long or too short (you have to get the ring inside the green circle). While I agree that's not completely realistic, a little bit of practice and you should be good. I think I've thrown one meatball in my last three games and it was completely my fault. When I miss, my pitches tend to break less if they're a breaking pitch, or get closer to the center of the strike zone if its a fastball.

As far as pitch counts, I turned CPU throw strike overall slider down all the way to 0 and while the pitch counts aren't completely realistic, the CPU will throw balls and will unintentionally walk guys that aren't dangerous hitters. hope that helps.

This is a good question and I don't know the answer. I've been playing with the pitching slider at zero, so I don't really ever throw meatballs. This concerns me, though, because I also never throw balls unless I want to - but I'm scared that if I make pitching harder, I'll just get smoked around the field opposed to it being the same but with me throwing more unintentional balls. We shall see.

It's not perfect, but it's pretty good, yeah.

Yep, thanks. I may trade in some old games and pick 2K8 up after work. I've tried the demo and this pitching system seems like it would be fun and challenging.

Glad to see people starting to come around. I was stunned by the visceral reaction on release day, as I've been having a great time with this game since my first pitch.

For me, the toughest pitches to throw are the 12-6 curve and the sinker (down and to the left, to up and to the right). Nathan throws a wicked one when you nail it, but it's tough to execute for me.
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
                Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?

I'm very disapointed with the new pitching system.

To me, when the timing is off it should be a ball ... not a meatpitch.

Just another game where it is impossible to walk anybody (unless you do it on purpose).

People seems to be more concerned about framerate and graphics then the gameplay...again

I walk about one guy unintentionally a game. I'll walk more when I adjust the sliders to the CPU takes more pitches. When I miss, it's more often a ball than a meat pitch.

I throw alot of balls too...I dunno why people are complaining about meatballs...I think im missing by a little....people who are missing by alot are throwing them down the middle....

Last season, teams average 536 walks, that's 3.3 walks per game.

There is no way that I'm gonna walk 3.3 batter per game...even with the new pitching system.

Did you max out the pitch meter speed? If you haven't done that yet, I wouldn't start complaining about it quite yet.

So it actually makes me throw even less balls.

Well, then, that might be part of your problem. Maybe you should UN-max it a little bit.
