Saving Sliders
I am having trouble with creating sliders. I create a custom set of all star sliders and save each section such as human, ai, ai batting, etc. Then I check the sliders before I play a game and they are correctly saved as custom-A. Then during a game whether it be exhibition or franchise it will switch to custom-P(Pro difficulty) with the same settings that I saved under all star. Any ideas?Tags: None -
Re: Saving Sliders
I'm 99.9% sure that "custom" is "custom." Disregard the "A" and "P." Your sliders haven't changed.I am become death

Re: Saving Sliders
Update: What seems to happen is that if you move certain sliders above a certain point, the level changes. Say for example you move the human contact slider from 100 (easy) to zero (hard) - this will hypotheically make the level change from Pro to All-Star. But what I said above still stands.I am become death

Re: Saving Sliders
For a 2K slider example, take the 'AI Take' sliders for balls and strikes. I've noticed that I'm seeing good results as are some others that have posted, but our settings are nowhere close. But what they do have in common is that the total value of two interacting sliders are still close to 100. I know at default this is most often a 50/50 split, but I don't think it has to be all the time. You may need a 40/60, 10/90, 25/75, you get the picture...
Food for thought and it sounds good in theory...Last edited by Qb; 03-08-2008, 04:03 AM.Comment

Re: Saving Sliders
Well no, not exactly, because the starting points still allow us to leave things at "default," for example. So if you started at Pro, for example, and tweaked from there, anything you didn't touch is still technically "Pro" and not "All-Star." If you literally changed everything, then yeah, it's useless; but in terms of more modest tweaking, it can still be useful.I am become death

Re: Saving Sliders
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think there needs to be "balance" and a hint of symmetry for some of the sliders to work properly. I may have to look at the default settings for the different levels to investigate further, as I just thought of this after reading BFJ's post. Think of tuning a guitar; you can tune one or two strings perfectly together, but they also have to be in tune with the other four strings. Does that make sense?

I've been saying for a long time now that devs need to explain to us EXACTLY what the sliders do. I mean, what does "makes it more difficult to hit good pitchers" mean, exactly? What does "good" mean in this context? Pitchers with ratings higher than 80? Well don't they have better stuff anyway? Does it mean that even if we make good contact, we won't get a hit? I mean it's just so ambiguous a lot of the time.
Not to mention, there's no excuse for sliders not doing much of anything. Your example of the AI Take sliders is a perfect case in point: why in the hell doesn't setting those to 100 make them take the pitch 100% of the time?I am become death

Re: Saving Sliders
Wait, are you saying that if I change the pitch speed, for example, on Pro, it moves other sliders too? I'm pretty sure that's not correct. All that happens is that the name of the set changes from Pro to Custom. Everything else stays put. No?I am become death

Re: Saving Sliders
It looks like once you move the Slider towards 50 in either direction it changes to the next lowest level.
So if the slider(Custom LEGEND) is already under 50(threshold) & you move-it towards 50 @ some point it will become (Custom ALL-STAR) causing all the Sliders to become (Custom All-Star)...Comment
