Re: Pitching with runners on.
If only 2K could have somehow let us know in some way that this is how the system worked...if only there was some sort of pamphlet that came with the game that explained how the new controls worked...if only.
For crying out loud how hard is it to completely update the damn instructions, especially when you are including a new pitching system, new hitting system and new defensive control scheme with new throwing system. I would guess it would take the better part of 1/2 to 1 full day.
This of couse assumes this was 2K's intent to begin with.
And get this.....What if you could pause the game and practice the new pitching mechanic with any pitcher you want, for as long as you want, and get immediate feedback on how you're performing each pitch?
That would be awesome!Good job! Good effort!Comment

If only the game itself would stop and display a tutorial that gave you step by step instructions on how to do just about everything. Imagine if you could also pause the game whenever you wanted and access these tutorials whenever you wanted.

That would be awesome! But seriously, the manual does suck. At least there are great instructions in the game itself.

and regarding turnbow, i pitched fine w/him last night, if i had to bet i would say you are not stopping the effectiveness in the right spot (same thing i was doing wrong).Comment

Re: Pitching with runners on.
The only thing that decided to come back for one pitch was the changeup that turned into a fastball. Second time that's happened to me in this game. Press up and down for a changeup and the guy throws a fastball that registers as a poorly gestured one.
But I have zero problems pitching from the stretch. Again, I don't understand what could be going on."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Pitching with runners on.
I was having this problem until I read this thread. The meter has to be in between the two white lines before you do the second gesture as was mentioned earlier. I got pounded a couple of games in a row because i was trying to be accurate and not use that much effectiveness which in turn backfired and gave me full effectiveness and no release.
Makes pitching even more difficult and calls more strategy into the game early because the more tired the pitcher is, the smaller the windoe is between rings.
Another reason for having to wait longer before the gesture is having to load up longer in the stretch to throw the ball 90+ mph.
I understand it now and like it, its a good idea.My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.
