Ok so let me get this straight. Pull back then let go, once I let go stick is back in neutral position then right as pitch is about to get there push up to swing? Ok now if this is the way how do you check your swing? Oh and this is for swing stick 2.0 . What I have been doing is pushing back and holding then as the pitch approaches pushing up to swing. Can some one please clarify this for me. Thanks

Re: Tips Using The Swing Stick??
It does'nt sound like many understand the new stick. It is completely different than the old one.
It is 3 Steps.
3
You might have noticed that you get a double step feedback message sometimes?
You need to Step as per usual and then release/back to neutral , then swing. No longer one motion back and wait then swing.
Step
release
swing
You can park the ball exactly where you want it everytime once you get it down. You can hit the old way too but it is mostly just dumb luck if it works and mostly get weak hits. Use the new stick with 3 motions and you will begin to drive the ball precisely where you push the stick and with power.
It can almost still feel as one fluid motion once you get the hang of it, if you do it quick enough just flick for the step and push the bat on the pitch.
Why else did you think it was called 2.0? Would have been nice of them to mention this but it is entirely new system regardless.
Step
Neutral
Swing

Re: Tips Using The Swing Stick??
Wow! I feel entirely ******** for not knowing this. And that is difficult to say, considering for the most part, I am ********. Thanks for the tip. I am going to try this one out tonight. Sounds like another one of those, "gonna take a little bit to get used to things", but sounds cool.
My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.

I usually just push down then push up to swing, and it seems to work.NHL-Montreal Canadiens

Re: Tips Using The Swing Stick??
Yeah...doing it the way the guy said to do it I get the "very early step" message. I still have yet to win a game on pro....0-6 5 total runs scored...1 HR!!!
What am I doing wrong??? Every MLB team hits homeruns....AND scores!
I like the game but damn its hard to hit.Comment

Re: Tips Using The Swing Stick??
You get the very early step message because you are stepping early. Flick the stick back right before the ball is released. I usually step right before the pitchers foot hits the ground. That may still be a bit early though.Comment

Re: Tips Using The Swing Stick??
Well clearly this is a game that CAN NOT be played on the default settings. After 7 games I have scored 5 runs and probably only have about 25 hits.
So now I have to tweak and adjust sliders to make the game playable.....
sucks!Comment

What difficulty are you playing on?Comment

Re: Tips Using The Swing Stick??
I think Pro is the default. What i realize now is that Home Run derby settings (whatever they are) give you solid hits (not necessarily HRs) regardless of the difficulty. I also noticed going to a game and hitting is noticeably different (weaker hits, etc).
Adjusting the human sliders a little will definitely help.Comment
