BEFORE I PREMATURELY SPRAY MY SHORTS, IS THERE ANY OTHER UPDATE THAT I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I JUST POPPED IN MY 2K8, AND THERE WAS AN "UPDATE" THAT I HAD TO ALLOW BEFORE IT LET ME PLAY....IS THERE ANYTHING THAT 2K RELEASED PRIOR TO THIS PATCH TAKING PLACE, OR IS IT SAFE TO ASSUME THAT I MAY (OR MAY NOT) HAVE RECEIVED THE PATCH???

I knew it was too good to be true. I haven't connected to XBL since I got the game, so I'm assuming the update that I got was the opening day "patch" that you're speaking of. This is ridiculous. All I want to do is start my damn franchise, and 2k is making it overwhelmingly difficult. BTW, the opening day "patch" didn't do ****. I see the same exact issues that I did before I downloaded it.

I will now go into a corner, cry, and change my shorts......

I'm thinking we need a third patch thread, becuase this has been hijacked by some negative nellies yet again.

Regardless, I'll be up late tonight and checking for updates when I can. As soon as I manage to get my hands on it, I'll chime in. Toodles!

I've been wanting to post this for awhile, so I guess this is as good a time as any.....

Anyone remember when "KushGamer" was asked about what I think was a preview screen shot that showed the MLB Records but it was noticed that Barry Bonds and the HR record(s) where left out, due to him not being in the players association? His explaination was that they couldn't include the record with a fake name because it would've been considered by MS as a bug during certification of the game.

Does anyone else find that incredibly ironic?

How did 2k know that MS was going to release a patch at about the same time as a server update?

To me, the average Joe is a casual gamer who may or may not be happy with the game. The game, for marketing purposes, needs to appeal to gamers across the spectrum.

There is also the choice of rent before you buy to determine if the game is broken as well.
Note, that there is also a patch for the PS3. Even if M$ did a server update, there still should have been a PS3 update avaliable. There wasn't, so we know that as of last night, there was no patch.

Same thing with the demo. Even if M$ held it back for "certification", the PS3 version still should have been avaliable. The odds of both M$ and Sony releasing the demo at exactly one day after the game releases are not very high, especially since we know 2k was trying its hardest to block all game reviews until after the game shipped.

By US law, if a company knows a product is defective, and sells it anyway, that company is liable for punitive damages. I, for one, am really close to filing a formal complaint on 2k/kush games, because its quite clear that they knew the game had major issues, and rather then hold the game back 2 weeks to fix them, decided to try to cover up the issues until after release.

Fact is though, until someone starts holding these companies responsable for the games they put out, we will continue to see games that require 2-3 patches to fix obvious isses.

Whatever, I am over this game. I find it funny that this game felt the need to have a stupid interactive ball boy and other retatarded nuances but cant have a decent crowd interaction, lighting and other cool stuff. Screw it glad I have both systems the show is incredible. Anyone else feel the same or do yall like playing what feels like in a stadium with no lights at night? Oh yea, love ALL the features that are in the game execpt the feature that actually makes it work. Ben Brinkman, if you ever read any of this then PM me and I will personally escort you to some real games and then you tell me your game is a sim.

who cares about dates and predictions, this thing will come when it comes. I learned my lesson about grumbling about things from 2ksports and ms. I still think things move to slowly for this game.

There will be no PS3 patch for a while. PSN is shut down (no updates) until the new revised PSN is released which won't be for at least two more weeks.
