I am crying!!!!
I just can't play 2K games. I learned total control pitching adjusted sliders and the cpu is still killing me with HR's. I have my TCP to 40 on the sliders, pitched a nice tight ball and the cpu always managed to kill me with a HR. Last years patch fix that and I enjoyed the game but this year HR are off the chain. Sorry guys about my crying but I just can't take anymore.Tags: None -

Bottom line you are not using the right settings or pitching properly. Take a close look at the following:
Total Control Pitching- turn it down and more down till you stop throwing meatballs
AI swing at Balls- especially behind in the count should be no higher than 20...if the cpu swings and makes contact on pitches a bit out the strikezone the hit quality will diminish greatly.
Learn to change speeds more and throw more pitches low and away. Away from the typical home run zones.
AI Power- hell drop it to 0...withmy settings anything lower than 13 thier hits will never leave the yard.

Re: I am crying!!!!
First off, why are you pitching in to big Pappi? Second, what do you expect throwing meat to Manny? Power slider at zero or not, if you throw meat to the games best homerun hitters, wouldn't you feel jipped if they didn't hit a homerun? My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.

Re: I am crying!!!!
You think throwing a meat pitch should result in a HR every time? That's one of the programming issues with this game. And it's bad enough that happens with sliders up, but with the Power slider at 0? Shouldn't happen. Manny should be hitting hard ground balls or line drives past the infield on a meat pitch with the Power slider at 0.Comment

If realistic means no one hits a homer than have fun with that. I think at zero your power guys should be hitting homers and the small ball guys should be hitting small ball.
Just an opinion. My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.

Originally posted by baa7So let me get this straight: I decide to tweak the gameplay because I'm seeing too many HR's. I go into the game settings, turn the Power slider to 0, and then play. But I still shouldn't throw inside pitches to anyone with HR power, otherwise he'll belt the ball into the upper deck.
Is that your idea of a game with realistic and responsive slider programming?
You can complain when Markakis and Geoff Blum are hitting four homers a game off you, that is way unrealistic. To make a statement about jacked up gameplay cause a home run hitter hits a homer off an inside fastball and a meat pitch is a bit on the ridiculous side.
I've had plenty of meat pitches hit for singles, fly outs, ground outs, even swings and misses, but your good power hitters are not gonna miss that ball. To me that speaks realism. My Friend Chris owns me in 2k8. Seriously, I suck.
