dam 2k7 was a pretty looking game! If it wasn't a HR fest and had the new controls of 2k8 then that would have been a classic IMO. I would rather play 2k7 than 2k8. That is a shame. Here is hoping 2k9 changes all that and I believe it will.

Have to say after playing a short season of MLB2k8. I think 2k7 is unrealistically fast. The pitching delivery seems fine on 2k8 but too fast on 2k7. I also feel that 2k7 is too mechanical (doesnt seem like a smooth flow - not talking framerate, possibly due to no overhead cam). The player models are alot better in 2k7 though.

Speaking of both games, does anyone have any idea why they took out controlled baserunning in 2k8?

2k7 was so close but I made the decision to stop waiting and got a ps3 and the show and I never looked back.
If I had to play 2k8 I would have killed myself Honest !!!
What a mess and they dont support ps3 well !

With 2K7 a lot of the problems could be fixed with some tweaking of the sliders while with 2K8 that frame rate bug/graphics killed it. We will see where 2K9 takes us.
Coming is my style, but I have to go.

Still playing 2k7. I went back to it after 2k8 was not up to par, and until I buy my PS3 I will still be playing 2k7.

Sliders did fix most of the issues.... not perfect, but a step or two ahead of 2k8....damn, that is backwards.

2K7 to me was a keeper, as it truly had some greatness within.
Now 2K8 on the other hand, I couldn't wait to sell. I know some people enjoyed it moderately by force, but I just couldn't get past the sloppy gameplay & last gen graphics.

2K9 will probably turn out pretty good, but as of now theres just nothing to go by except those 2 screens. Guess they're waiting till FOM hits the stores before releasing a whole lot.

I know- 2k7 was very close to being a really great game! WTH happened? I am still playing 2k7 after checking it out again. It looks really great on a 1:00 pm game, clear and 80 degrees out! Especially on my 50" samsung 1080p plasma.
Change the power settings to very low and a few other adjustments and it's not bad at all. If not then it's a HR derby fest.

You know....2k has promoted the hell out of their hoops games well before release and those usually turn out to be great.... little or no promotion of their baseball series which is usually hit or miss (no pun intended). I bought into the 2k8 crap last year when, despite little info, little marketing I knew it was a bad idea... so my solution this year is to spend $400 on a new system and new game.

I refused to buy a PS3 for one game considering I do watch many movies and only play sports games but the thought has crosssed my mind.

I used to have a 360 but sold it after i played 07 the show on a co-workers ps3. I sold mine on ebay and used that money to buy a ps3 (i needed only $30 out of my own pocket). It was well worth it as I only play sports games as well. Last year, it was great having the option of 2 baseball games instead of 1. Once again, the show will take the cake this year.

While you're looking into your crystal ball, can you let me know who wins the Super Bowl?
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
                          Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?

The show has a long track record of success and they continue to build off that. What has 2k done for its consumers? Absolutely nothing. I did enjoy 2k7, but 2k8 completely dropped the ball. Anywho, just taking a quick glance at my crystal ball, it has been determined that the Steelers will win this one by 7. Anything else you'd like to know Kermit?

Yes. Is it going to be worth my time to watch the NLDS this year?

Subquestion: Will Dick Stockton be doing the games?

And, to be fair, I don't know about a "long track record of success." Hasn't The Show only been great for about 2 years? If that's enough time, I'm going to start saying that the Cubs organization has a "long track record of success."
