i watched the highlight reel and it looked pretty good, hope he had the power slider at default or jacked up because there were an awful lot of opposite field shots. Gary Thornes broadcasting is even better than what the show has, he really gets into it doesn't sound scripted at all, i loved the throw it back on some of the hrs. that were hit.

I'm seeing that on the homeruns as well. I remember in last years game you could throw a back-door slider with a right handed pitcher at ground level almost to a left handed hitter and the guy would reach out and hit it to the opposite field 400 feet away. That just doesn't happen in real life, at least not as often as it does there anyway. Worse was when they would pull the same pitch for a homerun. I ended up editing the rosters and putting the HR attribute at half of what 2K had it to get rid of some of that but keep the extra base hits.

I like the announcing so far as well. One thing I really like is they can be talking about something, and someone pitches or hits the ball and they will tell you what happened, and then go back to the original conversation. That's pretty sweet. Of course, as a Red Sox fan, I have a built-in grudge against Gary Thorne because of the whole fake bloody sock thing. :P

High Heat had the fans at Wrigley throw it back long before anyone I can remember.

Man that was a freaking ugly game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allstar is the first game I remember doing it.

Really? Wasn't that back in 2000 or so?

I didn't remember it going that far back...pretty impressive. I know it was done later and ASB had it too (ASB also had the ivy changing color in Wrigley, as I recall...also impressive).

The one game I don't know if they had it... was possibly World Series Baseball. I didn't really get a chance to play it.

I like the commentary a lot. I think it's a big step up from last year. It feels like Madden 09's commentary in a way that Steve Phillips(Tom Hammond) has less lines but they are fluid unlike Gary Thorne(Cris Collinsworth) where his are just lines strung together. I could have gotten those mixed up but i haven't played madden in a while.

I really hope they fixed the away helmets for the cards( they're supposed to be blue) i don't know why it bugs me so much but it does.

WWS didn't have it. The ivy changing was sick. Also those Stadiums were amazing! They had working scoreboards for everything. The park at San Diego was amazing!

Also, ASB's future stadiums were unreal (in a good way!). Remember "Future Yankee Stadium" with a retractable roof? Not to mention the current Busch Stadium and a mockup of a ballpark in Washington DC...why can't we get those today, Sony and 2K? Tell me that!

I know those Stadiums had an incredible detail. I remember when they did a stadium comparison between the 3 games out at that time. They had so much more polygons than any other Stadiums. It was unreal. I think Stadiums look fine.

After watching the highlight videos, I hate to say it ...

Again, the crowd atmosphere is not really doing it for me. It's like they simply recorded about 20 people cheering and placed it into the game. Maybe I'm nuts because I haven't read anyone else nit-picking at this, but it just doesn't feel like a HR or an amazing catch (like that last one by Gomez) gets the excitement it deserves. Thorne can't do it by himself.

I love these vids; especially the highlight vid. The commentary continues to impress, I love the crowds, the graphics & anims pop, and the gameplay looks to be very enjoyable. Really making the wait for 3/3 difficult
