I only own a 360 and I don't really have a choice in terms of baseball games to choose from, but I'll be honest, if every pitcher is gonna need 50 pitches for a complete game, it pretty much makes fatigue obsolete, thus ruining the sim aspect, and thus forcing me to either skip baseball this year (which simply won't happen) or buy a PS3. It really is that simple. I understand cutting corners, and I'm not one to throw around the term "game-killer," but if anything is a game-killer, this is it.

Devs, mods, someone, please let us know, will there be any way (besides editing pitchers ratings) to get realistic pitch counts via sliders or difficulty levels???

Agreed...For whoever is a sim player, this would undoubtedly be a game killer for them.

Guys everything is tied into Player's Inside Edge/Ratings, this is why we have a Inside Edge Slider this year. They also added something called Pitcher Handedness Influence. Combined with tweaking the User Pitching Sliders I really believe will generate nice pitch counts.

That's a lot of assumptions. I think this one is a pass again this year. Plus now we'll be overwhelmed with 8,000 slider sets that claim to be sim based when none really are. If the game doesn't work fairly realistically out of the box, there aren't any sliders that could get sim like results. And that's sucks because I was excited to have 2 great baseball games this year. I just think the entire engine on 2k baseball is totally broken. It does look like it could be a fun arcade style game especially with the whole real-time thing going on

If you look @ the sliders I posted above both the Inside Edge & Pitcher Handedness Sliders are set. You don't think both those sliders @ 100 could be a reason why the AI continues to swing @ everything?

I hope you're right. I just have very little faith in this franchise. But if that is the case, then I think I would purchase this one. For me I'll wait until others get it and determine if it is fixable. I must say outside of that issue the game looks pretty good

Someone should ask Steve to mess with the A.I Batting sliders then post a video of the results.

I don't see why that would cause the AI to swing too much though.

Wouldn't the pitcher handedness just influence lefty/righty matchup effectiveness mostly?

I would also think that more inside edge influence would mean that the AI plays more to the scouting reports...which would not equate to swinging a every strike.

I'm not saying that's definitely the case, but that's what would make more sense to me.

This entire thread is one big assumption. If one of the devs would simply acknowledge this issue and put it to bed, then we could continue talking about what a wonderful game this potentially could be.

The problem is . . . none of the devs are doing this. This is a HUGE issue, one most people here will NOT overlook. I hope someone addresses this soon.

Well, the thing is they can't come out and say "The CPU swings at everything in the strikezone" because that would turn off potential buyers. We most likely will not get an answer until one of us gets the game and finds our for ourselves...

I assure you, if this issue is not addressed before the game or at least the demo is released, many of us will be renting it before buying it.

I agree 100% with you here. It was a guaranteed first day purchase until this problem surfaced. I'm on the fence right now. I guess we'll just have to play the waiting game.

My thoughts, exactly. The one apparent fact here is they removed the Take Strike slider. Taking user control away is a bad idea. So is relying on Inside Edge to fix any issue.

Is it possible the take a pitch slider is the Inside edge slider in new clothing so to speak? The only reason why I would think they take it out was that is conflicted with another or they streamlined it and it is a component of the Inside edge slider. Just throwing some thoughts out.

Judging from the series' previous gameplay deficiencies, along with the way IE was implimented in the past -- meaning, extremely poorly -- the last thing I would want to see is game sliders being replaced with hidden attributes. But this "simplifying the game" appears to be some sort of new vision VC has for their sports series. They removed a ton of ratings and sliders from NHL 2K9. And if you read the user comments, the CPU offensive AI is terrible, bordering on broken.
