Re: Thoughts on Cursor Hitting
Don't know how hard it would be, but maybe in a future edition, we could customize some of the colors/transparancy used in these things. The bat cursor, the pitching icon, the swing feedback graphics and similar other things that pop up are a bit of an eye sore and give parts of the game a very arcadish feel.
It would be nice to be able to make these things blend into the background as much as possible so that you can only faintly view them on the screen.Comment

Well, I've got the game on hold to rent, so I'll no doubt pick it up. But I don't like any hitting or pitching cursors, or hot zones or pitch speed overlays of any kind. I play with all that stuff shut off in that other game. 2K5 was the last game in this series that allowed you to turn off all cursors, and I keep waiting for them to put that simple option back in the game.Comment

2K has had colored bats for years. 2K5 had a white bat option I believe. So technically...
But yeah, a real bat color or an outline of a bat. And why do we need a white bat that's surrounded by a red glow? Maybe VC expects only gamers over 80 years of age will use the zone hitting option, and they want to make it as visible as possible for them.

I agree man, the size of that cursor is excessive to say the least. I can't imagine how any self respecting art director art VC saw that and thought it looked good. It looks like something out of an online Flash game. I don't understand why they didn't go the route of Power Pros and just make it a small circle.2K has had colored bats for years. 2K5 had a white bat option I believe. So technically...

HAHA perhaps. On the flip side you could even say it looks like something out of a Disney game for 3 year olds. All that giant cursor needs is a trail of animated stars that follow it around, giving it that nice magic wand pre school effect.2006 - present, NY Mets Season Ticket HolderComment

I don't mind the batting cursor at all, I actually prefer cursor hitting to zone hitting.
As for pitching, I know the big yellow circle can't be turned off as that is what you need to know your timing is good, but how about the white ball cursor used for aiming your pitch? I assume that can be turned off, no?Comment

I would hope so. The excessive and "loud" indicators are really frustrating. It screams "ARCADE!!!" when you play/watch. I just don't see why they haven't made it an option to tone these down.I don't mind the batting cursor at all, I actually prefer cursor hitting to zone hitting.

Hopefully next year, but it's disappointing for me. I'm really hoping some guru figures this out on the PC and finds a way to modify these things.
It's just kind of sad that i already have such a substantial list of things I want changed and I haven't played the game yet...lol. Oh well...nothing's perfect.Comment

That's what I have been saying ever since 2K5 implemented a new pitching system. No, the cursor cannot be turned off. I have no freaking idea why! That is the one way that we can miss our spots more, and they just won't do it!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
