Monday - "demo will be out tomorrow!"

Tuesday - "Hey, guess what? The demo comes out tomorrow!"

Wednesday - "The demo is definitely coming out tomorrow."

Thursday - "I'm guessing since there's just one day left, it'll be out tomorrow."

Friday - Keeps fingers crossed.

Major League Baseball 2K9 Demo Coming Next Week

A demo for MLB 2K9 will be on Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network sometime next week, according to Erick Boenisch, lead features designer on MLB 2K9.

Operation Sports took part in a MLB 2K9 conference call today, and during the question and answer session OS was able to ask about the release date for the demo. In addition, a myriad topics were discussed, so check out the OS live blog for various other MLB 2K9 tidbits.

Also, special thanks to Bryan "PastaPadre" Wiedey for joining in with OS during the live blog.

This happened with another VC/2k sports game though so there's a reason to be jaded. I can't remember which game it was but i know it was 2k related. They promised a demo and it took nearly a week or more after the date they promised.

Well, I think it's just a risk to make a statement like that when it's not in your hands. They've repeatedly said it's in MS and Sony's control, so I doubt that changed.

They likely got word from one or both companies tha it's good to go, but still...didn't this happen with a Madden patch?

The devs got word it would be out and said so, ye it ended up delayed.

I guess my thought is it's better to under-promise and over-deliver, rather than the other way around.

wow you must have forgot all about last year, this new developer must have had you put the blinders on and forget the past, BB said last year the demo was submitted in like january and we didn't get the thing until after the game dropped. but i do hope it is out next week, need some solid gaming time to learn the in's and out's again after not playing more then about 3 hours of last years game

I remember last year as well. Nevertheless it's pretty jaded to assume the worst. Obviously things are somewhat different this year with the game, as the vids have shown.

and i do agree, and i believe it will be out next week, but it won't surprise me if it's not, that is all i meant. i have to go by track record, and i actually do like 2k and am liking everything i am seeing so far from this game so here is hoping it will drop for me on the psn this coming thursday

Thank you! I think VC has proven they are not kush. I mean they have given us a ton of media (or let the community give it to us) A conference call, developer diaries, a gameplay walkthrough, trailers, and a spot on g4.

I do understand where some of you are coming from, but this is a whole new developer. I think VC has shown they really care about this game. Not to mention their reputation precedes them. I think its time to let the less than stellar Kush years go.
