    Demo tutorial & controls

So the demo is out and there are over 200 posts already in the impressions thread. Personally I cannot give an impression if I don't know what the heck I'm doing in the game. Props to 2K Sports for giving the community no info on how to play the demo.

After reading a debate over at the 2K forums on how to pitch I came to this conclusion:

    1. First motion starts the yellow getting big.

    2. Complete second motion with as much power and accuracy you want:
    <O</O

The bigger the yellow circle = more powerful & accurate pitch (max pitch.)<O</O
The smaller the yellow circle = less accurate & less powerful (meatball.)<O</O

Your pitcher will get tired faster if you’re jacking it to max pitch every time. Find a happy medium that works for you.
    <O

Is this correct? What about stealing, baserunning, batting, hit & run etc? Does someone have a link to Steve's screenshots of the tutorials?</O

Yeah, as far as teaching you how to play the game the demo fails miserably. You get one little tip and that's it. They don't even have the control scheme listed in the pause screen.

Simply making the remark that its terrible that there are no instructions for buttons, sticks, etc to play the demo.

On the main screen it states "HELP" but I cannot find a way to open it.

Incorrect, try putting no effort into pitching and you will get rocked by the AI.

There is nothing to open. The help is exactly what it says: Press A or B.

That's not the same as what meatballs were last year. When you put minimal effort into a pitch you can still control it's location. Last year's meatballs usually went right down the heart of the plate regardless of where you set the pitch location.

Meatballs as we knew them last year are gone now. You can throw weak pitches if you want though, but not meatballs as we knew them before.

is there any way to miss your location or not throw a strike? I have also see that it doesnt even matter if you do the full motion or not...as long as you move the stick to the first position you throw that pitch, and so far they have been strikes.

Not sure where the accuracy/challenge is in this

Am I crazy or did they reverse the direction of breaking pitch gestures? I pretty sure in 2k8, for a left to throw a slider the first movement was right (the way it breaks), but it is now left...

weren't the control layouts one of the many screenshots that Steve posted on OS? if they were, does anyone remember what # they were (so many)...I'd like to print those out before I head home so i have clue what I'm doing when i try this demo out...couldnt hurt..
