    Do not play in 1080p.....

I played the demo for The Show 09 a couple weeks ago and decided to play it in 720p, the games animations and gameplay looked much better than in 1080p, so after a few games today, I thought, what the heck, I'll try it on 2K as well...........and in my opinion the games does in deed look better in this format.

Just wondering if anyone who has complained about the graphics had thought about changing there hdtv settings..

The game still has jaggies, but I think that the final version won't be as bad.

actually thats not true. Depending on the tv you have, The Show 09 demo works flawlessly in 1080p and looks fantastic. No framrate issues at all.

flawlessly? that is a reach there buddy

it is much improved over last year but 720p delivers 60fps all the time

1080p does not....when throwing to first base there is a hicup of the frame rate and also when hitting foul balls to the third base dugout or first base dugout...there is a framerate dip...also happens in mlb 2k9

also the lines on the field which are white like on the third base side or first base side or the edges of the infield are not as sharp in 1080p as they are in 720p

you get much better resolution in 1080p but you lose graphical depth on the field not to mention the perfect all the time 60fps

most of all games are native 720p and should be played on that resolution for the best possible graphical detail and framerate purpose....

"graphical depth.." now that is the term that I've been looking for to describe the difference during play aside from the perfect framerate.....like me at first, I think that it takes a while for some people to grasp that even though 1080p is technically a better picture hence the larger number, however, 720p is best sports titles at the moment...train your eye and you will see the difference

gonna go a bit off track here............could that be why I notice a slight lag on the Show demo when the pitcher is in his delivery and i have a couple men on base? In my settings I checked all resolutions and my tv seems to support it, on both my ps3 and 360

              if you say so

last year we had a few who said 1080p was flawless and that was bs...

you dont have a diff demo then the rest of us..

the frame rate is not 60fps on 1080p all the time...throwing to first or hitting the ball fould towards the dugouts shows a drop in framerate....but if we dont want to see it we then say it works flawlessly....good for you

i dont think so....i mean you can try 720p but i dont have any hicups when pitching on any setting..

there is just a framerate drop when throwing to first or hitting foul balls to the dugout sides

also the details on the field are not as defined as in 720p

The Show should be run on 720p, anything higher and you run the risk of experiencing those "hiccups" that you mentioned.

^i set it to 720 only and I did notice it was smoother but the graphics were a little less "crisper". Nothing major so I will just keep it at 720.

the resolution will be better in 1080p but the depth of graphics will be better in 720p. also the framerate is locked at 60fps in 1080p and is not on 1080p eventhough is close

I'm sure it everything to do with the type of HDTV people are using. I have a Sansung 52" 1080p Plasma and it looks incredible and there are not any jaggies or slow down for me. At least nothing that is standing out. I did try the switch just to see and 1080p is more crisp and sharper on my set. thxs

the slow down or jaggies have nothing to do with the tv. is the game and if you play it on 720p you get no hicups but the resolution is not as good as 1080p but the depth of the graphics are better in 720p also in 1080p there are small fram drops when throwing to first or hitting foul balls to the dugout sides and the depth of graphics are not as good as 720p in terms of the white foul lines and edges of the infield

                            i have a 52 inch sammy 650 series lcd

and play all my games for 360 and ps3 on 720 which is native
