personally, the ability to hit my spot each and every time completely kills a baseball game. It removes strategy, it takes out any skill in pitching to certain batters or in certain situations and makes for VERY quick, low pitch count games. It can be fun...but unrealistic.

the fact that they even removed the slider to adjust this is bizarre.

Yeah, I was happy to hear it's still there, so I'll probably use it also. Kinda depends on if online is playable and if it can be used there.

I'm still getting the feeling this game needs to be scrapped and built from the ground up. Too much of Brinkman's "I don't want to take pitches" logic seems to still exist. I know VC said they had a full dev cycle to work on the game, but not knowing how many of the programmers came over from the old house makes me think the new guys don't have a firm understanding of the old code.

I don't really think bumping threads is good, but with the game being out for a week now, there's some good info in this thread on how to fix pitching. I'd love to have VC read some people's ideas in here and consider them for future games.

Wow excellent post. I actually think if they just make the cursor shake all the time reguardless of composure that would help immensely. If the cursor is shaking you can't truly hit your spots with any accuracy. A bad pitcher would have a cursor shaking violently all over. Also they should give the option to not see the cursor when it is shaking making it really difficult!!

I personally don't like the shake idea, but would rather see the cursor become larger depending on factors. Effectively the same thing, without the annoying shaking.

At first I hated the shaking myself but now I kind of like the annoyingness of it. It rattles you. It also makes you a bit frustrated, especially when you miss the spot. Plus I like that it is not all left up to the ratings to decide your fate.

It actually takes some skill to move it and try to get a spot that won't kill you, but will hit the strike zone without going right down the middle.
