i couldn't figure it out either. who's better hitting lefties? matt stairs or geoff jenkins? hell if i know since 2k decided this info was not important.

here's another one. try to figure out what the batting lineup is for the other team if you don't already know it. not possible in the demo as far as i could tell. ok MAYBE there is a menu option in the full game that has this info? and if the answer is actually yes, the reason i have to pause the game to find this out is because?

i really hate this game. it sucks.

LOL...unfortunately, knowing my players very well will never really be easy due to the fact that one of the original problems with the 2K Baseball game was the fact that defensive player ratings were never very clearly apparent on the field. Its one of the issues that I have been posting about in other topics...So Im hoping there is a way to see player ratings during the game in the final version or this could be a big letdown...at least for me

If you read my last post, it sounds like it's in the full game, just not in the demo.

Jeff, I sure hope so, but based on that comment you quoted, I think the responder was a bit confused as to what you were exactly looking for. Because in the demo, you can left or right push on the cursor to see hitter ratings but nothing else (I think thats what he was reffering to) I hope Im wrong and theres alot more in the final release

Yes, I think he was confused. I asked him to about viewing your own team's stats/ratings and this is what he said so far:

D-pad down is where you bring up the lineup card to have a pinch hitter and warm up a pitcher.

When you bring in a pinch hitter or a relief pitcher, it will show their stats which is nice and long overdue.

So if you are going to bring in your closer and it's Sept., it will show his season stats.
I asked him if you can view their stats/ratings before you call a sub, but I haven't heard back yet.....

I have a nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach that this is something we are not going to see and it may have been completely overlooked. Baseball is a chess game of percentages, player profiles, and playing the matchups.

Making decisions in a game, platooning players, and making these substitutions all rely heavily on reviewing player ratting and attribute data. I cant understand how something like this is not in the game

                  From the impressions thread:

"4. For those folks that were freaking out about accessing player ratings during the game - fear not, you can access them by subbing through the pause menu instead of pressing the d-pad during the game."

So it looks like we are ok with this one in the release version.

Ok if this is the case, then it isnt so bad...at least we can view (both) teams?

However, it still is an oversight be 2K not allowing you to access the player cards with the ratings from the in game Pop Up Lineup screen like we were able to do last year...Im not sure why this wasnt included this year.

What about Pitch History? did that feature make it in this year? (the cool looking graph that plots all the types of pitches and locations a player faced during his at bat)

it doesn't even tell you how fast the most recent pitch was half the time. i don't get it. seems like a common feature that has been in every baseball game the last 20 years.
