This thread shouldn't even be in this forum. Perhaps the console talk forum since this effects EVERY game that does this, including those sold by Sony, 2K and EA.

Did I say the last 4 years?

We don't know the facts, I am just going on what he said at this point and time. He is traveling a lot with his motor-home (at this instance). And I just gave an alternative he may be using to post. It just got dragged on because pjv31 "wasn't in the zone", lol.

Regardless, it does not excuse the fact that closed platform machines, consoles, need to find better ways to deliver patches to fix things that are game breaking, if they are not going to hold the game until it is fixed, beyond forecasted release dates.

Not everyone has the internet. And it is foolish to think that just because there is the internet, that publishers and developers can get away with things like this without warning people.

This discussion has remained civil. The call for censorship (read:locking) or "moving of this thread" because you happen to not agree with it is so troublesome on message boards.

Especially when it does pertain to this game, and others like it. And at this time, there is a recent known bug, and a post retail patch.

I think the issue that people should have internet these days is irrelevant. The game should be a fully working one as advertised when it hits the store. Yes it's nice they have a fix but putting any of the responsibility on the consumer for the fix isn't right IMO.

Give the "call for censorship" a rest. It would be the same in any other forum about any other game. Should someone create this thread in the Madden forum b/c they can't patch their game? The NBA forums? Every single other forum where this happens? The fact is this is console gaming today, not 8 years ago. Where are the people who were in uproar 4 years ago when High Heat was released with the old schedule by accident? You guessed it: updating their game. Via the internet, on their PC. It's the same exact thing, as the PC disc was released with the error.

Acting like this is something new is being silly. People are using any excuse possible to call out companies for something that is COMMON PRACTICE in game development today. ALL game development, not just MLB by 2k Sports.

It's an excuse to permeate negative discussion here and it's obvious.

You could get online with your PS3 through your laptop if you configure it properly.

a lawsuit like this would never fly, as already stated on page 1 - if you go out and purchase a game that you KNOW beforehand needs a patch and you DON'T have internet access to your XBOX 360...you have no case.

now, for all of you that say "well what if they didn't know!" - all a lawyer would have to do is show where 2k released a formal statement BEFORE the release of the game that stated so - and that would be a wrap.

Wow man ... no-one is acting like this is something new. We are engaging in in a civil discourse, exchanging ideas and ways they can better do this. Doesnt matter where this is posted, it is posted here and has remained civil.

Doesnt matter what can be done, but to put the blame on the consumer for the developer's/publisher's shady business practice is dumbfounding. Doesnt matter if this "is how it always was", in this day and age, you would expect better business practices to treat the consumer. Why ones would argue for better things for the consumer is beyond me.

I'm done with the thread. The intentions here are transparent in this civil, yet obviously slanted discussion. Seems like consumers should take it up with software development in general. Damn you Microsoft and Apple for making my PC be connected to the internet to update security flaws and broken advertised features. *shakes fist*

You are being highly unreasonable. And if this was posted on The Show forum, I would still be down with it remaining there and being civil in discussion. But it took a few posts to get that out of you, (The Show Card). And quite honestly, now I see why you had your "against this thread" motives.

Doesn't matter where it was posted, it was posted here, because the Franchise is broken in retail. It pertained to the topic, and was discussed as a whole. No bashing. But since it always turns into a red vs. blue with motives, I can now see your reservations.
