This is ugly yes. However, I have played prob about 20 games in the demo, and I have not seen this happen once.

Really? Not once? I've seen a number of times and I've only played 6 games.

I saw it for the first time today. It was on a double play turn. Utley was looking towards home but threw to first. This is the first time in about 25 demo games.

I really don't care about the animations. I care about simulation and realism in results.

But I think that that's not completely separable. Simulation to some degree goes beyond the gameplay. Not to maddenbash one bit, but this is why some of the madden faithful still struggle with the game.....the animation doesn't even approximate what actually happens. So, e.g., if the outfielder doesn't hop-step to throw the ball in, I can live with that as long as the actual throwing motion looks something like his real life counterpart, but he shouldn't be facing 90 degs. away from the target. If that's the case then we should just play Wii baseball.

the double play turn is horrendous. i remember watching one unfold and thinking to myself no way this is going to be turned. then all of a sudden the throw gets lasered at 200mph out of nowhere like it shot out of my 2b's bum rocket cannon.

i dont know but i havent seen that happen either. i just think that people will always find something to complain about. it really doesnt matter.

I've only seen this issue happen once in nearly 30+ demo games, so as long as it's a rare occurence (on my front at least), then I won't be bothered by it that much.
