    Editing batting stances

Can you give a batting stance to players who don't have a signature stance? I read somewhere that you can't even change created players batting stances.
Can someone who has the game answer this for me?
    thanks

What's wrong with that question? I would also like to know, cuz so many things have been taken out of this game this year it's disgusting. I would assume that u can still edit a default stance, but who knows this year. This game is really disappointing me so much I'm quite skeptical about buying it this year just in protest. Later.

He's not downplaying the question as a nitpick or anything, he said that because the OP posted the question like 5 or 6 times. Hope that helps clarify gilgamesh348's post.

That would be horrible! I cannot stand looking at those awful default stances! If this is true it's just another thing to the already long list of things that have been taken out of this game . ShowTyme15, did u hear about the player edit with respect to them taking out the Jersey and Pants options from this game. The more I hear about this game, the more frustrating it gets.

Every year I buy MLB 2k and The Show, but I hardly ever play The Show cuz I can't take 2K out of my 360 (I have both 360&PS3). Well after seeing what The Show looks like this year I have a feeling it'll be the other way around. The Show also has updated their player edit section to be better than 2k's. Especially now after 2K removed some of the most important parts.

This page really did it for me. Especially the last paragraph at the bottom of the page. Definitely read, I was this was 2K's philosophy.

Hey everyone, Greg Batalucco (Game Designer) and Clayton Read (Associate Producer) here to bring you the next installment of the MLB 09 The Show blogs. This entry will focus on all the little details added this year to The Show that give it an added touch of realism. For this year’s version we wanted to [...]

Yeah man I heard about everything it is a killer with the pants and shirts it doesn't make sense but oh well. Also if the no editing of the batting stances is true I'm def. not purchasing this game. Next Friday I'm going out to get a PS3 and the show cause that game is blowing me away it always has even on the PS2. Just seems to me one year 2k is great and the next it's one giant step back i wanna love thsi game and I always have sometimes i just don't understand. Things like these could be avoided if they just interacted with us on these boards.

There was a rumour that the PS3 was gonna drop it's price by $100, so maybe you'll get lucky! It's worth it just for the blu-ray if you have a HD TV. Keep me informed about the stances please. Thanks. Later

                      Re: Editing batting stances

I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my pre order because of this...I CAN'T STAND THOSE UGLY DEFAULT BATTING STANCES.

2k has always gave us the option to fix things that are wrong with their games by having a bunch of sliders, batting stances,etc...Now they completely take out batting stances, and important A.I batting and pitching sliders?WTF 2K/VC?

My brother has a PS3 and it looks like he'll be leaving it in my room so he can play The Show on my HD T.V.I can just play that all year.I'll just have to get over the things I don't like about that game...But, so far theres more things that I don't like about 2k9 anyways.

This goes back to APF 2K8. VC decided to remove 75% of the editing/tweaking options that were in NFL 2K5. Then they stripped down NHL 2K9, removing various editing, slider and game options from that game. Seems to be their new mandate or vision or something.

Man, but I have so much fun editing stances and windups for players that don't have them. I went so far as to record tv screens to compare to change the stances. It was just fun thing to do. Ah well, I'll live.

I usually create an entire team of fictional players and use them as my team. So along with the other gameplay issues people are talking about, this for me is a definite no-purchase-2K9 omission.

I just can't freakin' believe this crap.

Teams like the A's who have a lot of young players, are probably filled with guys who have default stances. That's how it was in 2k8, but at least we could give them a stance.I might be able to get over this if I get rid of the players on my team that don't have a sig stance...But, it's still pretty annoying pitching to guys who have no sig stance.

And what about if your 20+ years into your franchise and theres nothing but made up players left? There would be no one left with a sig stance!

This game really is aimed toward "pick up & play" users...Those people don't care about batting stances.
