Since there's no Exhibition mode in 2k9....

I'm wondering : can they patch it so you can edit CPU lineups? I have no idea if this sort of thing can get fixed. HOWEVER, I did have an idea.

Theoretically, couldn't you go into Situation mode, and just start at the very beginning? I'm almost certain you'd be able to set everything to your liking that way.

Who told you there was no Exhibition mode?

Make 4 roster saves. Save #1 has every CPU teams' #2 starter moved to the #1 slot in the rotation; Save #2 has every CPU teams' #3 starter moved to the #1 slot in the rotation; etc. Load whichever save you want for a pick up and play game.

I can't imagine there would be any need to further edit CPU teams' defense/batting order, so this solves the problem, right?

Am I to assume that's not correct, then?

No Exhibition mode, just a Play Now mode that doesn't allow you to adjust the CPU opponent's lineup or pitchers.

Wouldn't you be able to set the game up with 2 players, adjust the lineup and pitchers for the team you want as the cpu then move it back to cpu control?

If you have two controls, no doubt. But I'm not going to spend another $60 on a controller just so I can change CPU pitchers pre-game.

I just tried this & it works. Once you've made the changes & before the 1st batter you must go to Options, then Choose Side. Move the 2nd controller to the middle, once in the middle shut the controller down using the Guide Button.

I can't speak for the 360's compatibility with this, but most PC USB controllers will work to some degree on the PS3 (enough for menus and the like), and are a good deal cheaper than a sixaxis.

Not a fix, just a workaround - the Show had (probably still has) the same issue.

I swore in some of the videos I saw that when they are doing the pre-game with "studio" guy saying it's time for baseball on 2K sports or whatever it popped up in the left or right hand corner saying press "x" to set lineups. Is this not in the retail version?

Edit: Sorry, it's the START button, it says it in the lower left corner. It's in the Mariners - Yankees video at GCHD. http://gamecinemahd.com/video/major_...eball_2k9/3861

I'm sorry, but this is just pitiful on 2k's part that you have to do this to adjust the CPU's lineup in an "exhibition game." 2K, slowly but surely, is losing me.

Um, WHAT? Huh? You're wonked out over exhibition games?

Wow. "And they didn't get Piniella's hair right! THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!"

That's like complaining you got apple instead of orange after ordering "fruit juice." Don't have a seizure, JF. There's a PLAY NOW mode, which is a variation of EXHIBITION. And there are two easy work-arounds if you want to adjust CPU pitchers/lineups.
