I'd like to hear more about this, too. I guess the throw meter is why you can't charge up a throw...at least I can't in the demo. If that is the case, I suppose I'll just need to get used to the fact and be more attentive when making throws (especially double plays and cutoffs).

Re: The CORE Gameplay is GOOD...
I think that the core gameplay is "improved". "Good" is a relative term, and to me, comparing this game to The Show is pointless b/c 360 users don't have The Show, and I'm not sure why anybody on PS3 would buy this game OVER The Show. I'm only interested in whether this is a solid game, objectively speaking.
The fielding range could be an issue, but I didn't notice it too much. I think the hitting and pitching is vastly improved.
Question: Have people here figured out why the unintentional lob throws happen? Are you able to "charge up" a throw prior to getting a grounder in your glove? I think that any time you are holding a button before you're supposed to be pressing it, MBL 2k9 reads that as a single button press. If true, this would explain why I can't complete double plays properly, and why I'm getting random lob throws despite holding the throw button down.Comment

Re: The CORE Gameplay is GOOD...
Joe, I have asked this question to others but no answer so if you could just answer one question i have that would be great.
In franchise mode when you trade, call up, etc. a player does his jersey number change automatically if someone on the team already has that number taking care of the problem with multiple players having the same jersey number?Comment

Re: The CORE Gameplay is GOOD...
I took the plunge tonight and picked the game up at midnight and have put in a few hours since then.
I have to say I like it overall. There are a few kinks here and there, but there is a lot of good. The hit variety is the best I've seen in a 2K game. Played a game online and it's WAY smoother than last year.
If they can just fix a few things, especially the AI batting aggression, I will be happy with this game.Last edited by jeffy777; 03-03-2009, 05:00 AM.Comment
