Ill try to pitch against him and see if he belts one out of the park.
Ugh I traded for Travis Snider. Only thing that bugs me about him is that he has a generic batting stance. As you can see, I am very nit picky about my franchise. I hate that 2 players on my team have the same batting stance. There's no way to even check first before trading for a player either! I checked everywhere on the "edit" player screen. They don't even list what batting stance the player uses!

I'm taking a look at Chase Headley too as a trade option.

I started a franchise with the Giants but just to get the feel for things. I don't think I'm actually planning on going forward with it after trading for Brandon Morrow, Jeff Clement and David Price lol.

I am starting Cubs 'chise later...I have spent ~9 games getting the feel of things, learning how to effectively pitch and that the "classic" batting pales in comparison to using the right analog stick...

I am getting rid of Blanco as my backup catcher though....Lo Duca looks like an adequate replacement....

I started one Phillies franchise the other day, before the Manny roster update. Interestingly enough, I manually added Manny to the Dodgers, where he sat on the bench through about 20 games. Has anyone else done the same thing to Manny and noticed him just sitting on the bench? Oh well.

In that franchise, the Rockies began the season 18-0, while the Dodgers (probably because they weren't playing Manny) started 1-15. Has anyone seen some lopsided records through the first few weeks of their franchise?

Just started a new franchise with the Manny update, and that will be my primary franchise, with the Phillies.

Re: Have you started your franchise?

Trading is a bit too easy in this game. And I'm a stickler for realism so I really have to keep myself in check and really think it over before making trades.

One thing I really need on my team is that one young player I can groom and develop and kinda live vicariously through. For some reason, especially playing as my beloved Cubs, it got boring because there really isn't that hotshot young prospect to develop. In a way, I'm really jealous of the Rays because they have so many of them.

On 2k8, I usually traded for a top prospect and customized him to my liking. But this year they made it a ton harder to do that obviously! That is why I want to trade Soriano for a top prospect. I'm not really huge on creating players.
