Yup..cursor hitting certainly produces the best results. The hit variety is more up to snuff and you get less instances of that weird bat-to-ball physics that the directional influence system suffers from too much.

I only hope next year (or for the PC version this year, via mod) that rediculous cursor can be either shut off or made transparant at least. It's an abomination...lol. Plus, no cursor equals supreme difficulty (obviously that shouldn't be default as it would drive some people away fro the system)

Anyway, I would agree that people who are not satisfied with the hitting give it a try. It's not perfect, but it's far better than default.

cursor hitting is the way to go. definitely more challenging. using joe's sliders right now and was doing pretty well with them as of late. tonight though, seems i hit a slump!! went four games of scoring 1 run, and was about to get shut out in the fourth game until i got pissed and switched to total control hitting in the 8th inning, just to see how much easier it is to hit with. well, i scored 4 runs to tie the game, and then Tex hit a two run bomb in the 9th to win it.

didnt feel as good as with the cursor, though. felt like i would make contact no matter what, just as long as my timing was good. with the cursor, you not only have to have timing, but also direction.

Gonna have to adjust joe's sliders though!!!!! :wink:

You didn't try the sliders I posted? They're giving me some really nice results.

You didn't try the sliders I posted? They're giving me some really nice results.

I was going to, but as i said, i was using joes and having good results with them, enough so that i was able to turn the pitch speed up from 75-80.

Last night though, i just couldnt seem to make solid contact or any contact at all. The oakland A's #1 struck me out like 14 times!!!! That's when i got pissed and switched to total control for two innings and came back to win... but back to cursor next time.

I'm honestly thinking that i would just need to turn the pitch speed down. Just hate doing that, because i hate that affecting my pitchers. Hate seeing Burnett throw a 95mph fastball that looks like a changeup. I wish the sliders for pitch speed were two different ones, one affecting user and one affecting cpu.

Cursor hitting is the way I feel like I "just missed" a HR or a big hit. Everything else is just timing based and not where the bat is positioned. This was always what I loved about cursor hitting.

idk, i cant help but feel cursor hitting is so Ken Griffey Jr. Slugfest, not exactly what I want in my next gen game.

I find the problem I have is that the computer rarely throws inside, so its natural to hold my left stick towards the outside of the plate and make solid contact. There is really no guess work, which makes it easier to hit.

How do you make the pitch speed faster for when you are at bat. The pitch speed is under your pitcher settings but there is non for you as a batter.

I would like the pitches to be a tad quicker coming in. Should I just zoom in?

It is the same, the pitch speed for the pitcher is the same speed that will come in for the batter.

Wait.... So under Human Pitcher Settings Pitch Speed I set it to 75..

When I play a franchise game against the CPU my pitch speed is set to what I have it for my pitcher???
