Re: Added Missing Pitches
That was my original argument about Wang not having 4 seemer. That a sinker is a type of fastball and he throws it 80% of the time. The only problem is the sinker in the game sinks way more than a real life sinker does.
Nice to see this thread back on track despite "adult actions" of some.Comment

Re: Added Missing Pitches
i understand, however Wang has a straight four seam fb as well as a sinker.
I realize a sinker is really a sinking fastball, or a fastball that sinks. However, he doesn't throw a sinking fastball 100% of the time. He will sneak a straight four seamer by people from time to time, getting it up there around 95mph. In fact, Yankee beatwriters were hoping that he would throw it more, higher up in the zone, thinking he would increase his strike outs. But either way, they gave him one with the update, and that's cool with me.
I also agree that sinkers in games aren't depicted totally realistically. they look more like very hard 12-6 curves, than they do a sinking fastball.JUST WIN BABY!!Comment

Re: Added Missing Pitches
What I'd like to know is why do we need to depend on 2K Sports to give pitchers the correct arsenal? This is shady on their part. Editing pitches has been around for years on baseball games. I'm sorry but this gets on my nerves. We don't live in the 80's anymore. It's just absolutely shameful to see this. It leaves us waiting or hoping for ANOTHER patch.
I know I've already stated how I feel but this along with the limit on the amount of player edits are two things I just can't believe. Yes, there are many other things wrong with the game in which we hope a patch will fix but these are just a disgrace. I'm an avid roster guy & with these limits you can't fix things. We are left waiting & hoping for things that shouldn't have never been an issue to start off with. That's my 2 cents & I'll keep my mouth shut from now on because I could go on all day about this problem. Thanks guys!NCAA- GO VOLS

Re: Added Missing Pitches
The Sinker doesn't have the same effect as a 4 or 2 seemer in the game. It's common sense to know it's a "type" of fastball based on technicality.

I couldn't agree more. Just because a pitcher has a sinker doesn't mean it's his exclusive FB pitch or that he throws it 100% of the time. I'm sure other pitchers like Oswalt and Halladay don't throw sinkers exclusively but, use them as needed. On the bright side Olendorf now has a 2 seemer which seems pretty accurate from watching spring trainingComment

Re: Added Missing Pitches
It's one of the main reasons I have not started a franchise I am committed to. I know the rosters will change, and there are still some free agents that will sign. Let's not forget the another patch is coming down the pike.
So I will mess around in the franchise mode, and get a feel for it. But I'm not going to launch mine until after opening day.
There is nothing wong with starting earlier, but there is no way the rosters will be set by any stretch.Comment

If that is important to you, then yes, you should start over.

EXACTLY why i'm waiting to start mine. i've started mine in the past early, when the game releases, and too many times i have found myself starting over because of the things you've mentioned. So i'm using the month of March as "spring training" and will fire up a franchise on opening day of the real season. (assuming the patch will be out by then).JUST WIN BABY!!Comment
