The next time you have an outfielder misplay an obvious routine fly ball, and the ball hits him in the head, bounces behind him, or is just an obvious flub, press the start button on the controller. Now hit replay. Now focus your attention on the pitcher. Hmmm... The have added a few new animations for the pitchers this year that show the emotion of giving up a homerun, giving up a hit, and the pitcher will slap his mitt, swear at himself, throw his head back, etc... to show the emotion of his mistake. Ahhh... now watch the replay after that routine fly ball heads out to the outfield. Why would the pitcher shake his fist in the air or throw his hands up in disgust on an easy fly ball to his teammates int he outfield? Well, here's why. Because the outfielder is going to drop, misplay, or totally miss the ball. Same goes for a grounder that is misplayed. The ball is an easy dribbler to short, and I notice my pitcher's head move in such a fashion that he is really upset about inducing the grounder to end the inning. Does he have ESP? Apparently, because that ball is about to be booted, and the runner safe at first.
This is lame with a capital L and some swear words in front of it. I will leave the swear words to your own design, as I would not like to receive another warning for my potty mouth.
So, next time you notice your pitcher with an animation that seems like he is mad, even though the ball has not even been fielded yet, get ready, you'll know what is coming.
