I had a similiar issue in my first few games. Too many hits, but mostly singels. As previous the posters suggested, I also started using the power swing more often. Results were good: fewer hits, but more of them are the extra base variety.

I will have to check. I lowered them by about 5-10. It seems to work very well, and has not resulted in a big jump in triples. I have been comparing the stats frequently, and through 50 something games, Montreal leads the league with 13 or 14 triples.

Certain parks are more conducive to triples, just as it is in reality.

I think I have found a pretty good balance with editing the running speeds, and OF ranges. I saw no need to tamper with infield ranges, as I haven't seen a lot of problems.

GIve it a try..I think you will be pleased. I realize everyone's playing style is different, but I am very happy with my teams stats as well as those league wide. If anything, HR's are a little low which is fine with me (more in line with traditional totals in years past).

I use the power swing semi frequently, and it works well too. My early concern was that it would be an all or nothing affair (HR or out) but it really isn't.

I seem to hit HR's when the pitcher makes a mistake, or if I am sitting on a pitch. My HR totals are actually lower than the Astros totals this season. And I am by no means complaining.

I also like the way the fouls work in the game. There seems to be a direct and realistic correlation between the angle and timing with which you swing and where the ball goes.

The number of fouls seems good too, with the lone exception being the lack of fouls straight back, which I can live with.
