WSB is So Real And Fun

I fired it up after a long hiatus yesterday (been playing ASB of late). WSB is just so well made. The gameplay is tight. All of these problems others complain about are over exaggerated. For example, in SBs, I see guys get thrown out. Just use the default leadoff. The swing animation problem (Big deal). This game has no fielding problems (you always make the plays you're supposed to). As to question about walks, I used Mike Hampton yesterday on medium variable pitching and he walked 8 batters in 4 innings. Pitching does require skill, because you need to paint the corners or you'll get hammered. With pitch variability, that's not easy. And the variety of hits, groundball/fly ratio, doupble plays, pitch counts, etc. are very realistic. Ballpark animations after HRs are a plus too. This game is just very well made. I even saw the throws to the first baseman that pulled him off the bag where he raced the runner to the bag for a close play. Great game. Just feels like baseball.

I agree that it is a good game, but SB's are a problem. I hardly ever get thrown out and I use the default leadoff.

yeah, you can easily steal 2nd w/ default leadoff, but i can't get 3rd w/o taking a few extra steps

I haven't had that problem. Especially with slow runners and catchers with strong throwing arms. Try it with Mike Metheny catching. Its a big difference compared to Mike Piazza. Very true to life.

Stealing 3rd should be harder because the catcher has a shorter distance to throw to (90 ft) comapred to 2nd.

my speed guys rarely get thrown out, but they do by the big guns like ivan the terrible. my slower guys get gunned regularly. especially since i moved up to very fast pitch and they throw something like a fastball/cutter.
