No way. 2k7's horrible hit variety alone put it behind 2k8. In 2k7, I hit the ball in the same three places... Single up the middle, HR to left field, double over the left fielders head. It was rare to hit a ball in the gap or down the line in that game.

Some sliders didn't even work properly in 2k7. No matter how much you tweaked them, there would still be too many HR's hit and robbed.

When batting, it looked like the pitcher was just a foot away from you. This made the game unplayable after I played 2k8. I don't know how I ever caught up to anything playing with pitch speed maxed out.

The only things I miss from 2k7 are the A.I steals, and the graphics..

Yep...I think it was Kush Gamer who basically said that the hit variety was completely random and basically a roll of the dice and that the location of the pitch, swing, timing, etc. had nothing to do with the actual outcome. This is the reason you could bomb opposite field HR's on inside pitches and pull home runs on pitches down and away.

There was no logic what so ever..as long as contact was made, who knows what was going to happen.

2K7 was pretty and looked like a step in the right direction, but IMO, that's all it was.
