If they tuned ratings to matter more, then great...it should be less an issue for sure. We obviously don't know enough yet either way.

I 100% agree about the shaky cursor thing and Meatball pitches completely. Meatballs were one of my biggest gripes with the pitching in 2K7/2K8. If you miss your spot it should miss, NOT a 65 mph floater down the pipe. Maybe selecting the pitch button beforehand in this new mechanic will help with that, but I have my doubts. The pitching (in terms of control) was one of the bright spots in 2K9 IMO. Hopefully they focused on AI logic, ratings influence, etc. so that the pitcher/batter matchup is more true-to-life.
    I agree with SoxFan.

I wonder what game breaking glitches will be involved in this year's game?

Well, let's break it down (gamebreakers for me, whether actual glitches or gameplay related):

World Series Baseball 2K3 - Franchise freeze.
ESPN Major League Baseball - No problems here, just too simplistic of a game.
ESPN MLB 2K5 - Passed balls galore.
        MLB 2K6 - ... enough said.
MLB 2K7 - Home run frenzy (SlamZone didn't help).
MLB 2K8 - Graphics issues (framerate, very "dark", grass color made me puke).
MLB 2K9 - AI swings at everything.
        Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60

My dream scenario would be the location placement of 2K7 and the gesture system of 2K8. I really liked throwing a slider in 2K7. I liked watching it move from where it was placed. The same with a curve. Put a nice gesture system in there and it would really be fun to pitch.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

            I agree...that would be a killer combo.

Are all those observations from a Best Buy kiosk?

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Haha nah, none of them were (though most of MLB 2K7 was initially from a home theater setup at Best Buy ).

I owned WSB 2K3 for PS2, then the next three titles for Xbox. I haven't owned a 2K baseball game since then, but my roommate two years ago got a 360 for his birthday and we would borrow our floormate's MLB 2K7, where I got more extensive time with it. I only played the MLB 2K8 demo as well as MLB 2K9, with the exception of the start of a game that hung up after three innings because their fielder wouldn't pick up an overthrown ball.

But rest assured, I played over a year in my franchises for 2K3, 2K4, and 2K5 (in 2K5 I played over 400 franchise games). 2K6 was actually pretty good for Xbox, but was terrible on the 360 version.

                      From Gamespot article:

"If you're whiffing on pitches, the analyzer tells you what you're doing wrong thanks to a nifty little picture-in-picture visual"

This and the batter's eye that tells you fastball, breaking ball, or off-speed kind of reminds me of MVP 05.

That is the worst part Nemesis. It is like the biggest guessing game of what they will deliver. Has to be the worst AAA sports franchise. Sad thing is everyone see the potential and the Devs just can't pull it together.

The truth is that Both NBA live and Madden have been terrible on nextgen until this year and are still not that good. They finally started turning things around this year. So with that said mlb2k can be held in the same light and might just turn things around as well.
NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.
