sounds like this game will be alot better than last years. but me i won't be buying it for the simple reason that i own a ps3 and with there last game nhl2k10 not getting a patch because they did not sell many copies makes me beleave when they patch it and they will because all there games get patches. they will skip the ps3 because lack of sales on that platform most will buy the show. if i had a 360 i might be tempted but as a ps3 owner i am staying away from there games.

Great way for them to support their customers. And we wonder why we are in these predicaments.

I am looking forward to this game, and have some optimism there will be improvements, even without check swings which is a huge negative to me.

I hope this will get sorted out by the Fall of this year, where I would consider this purchase for cheap off of Steam for the PC. Baring it being decent or not.

That's more or less how I've felt. I preferred MLB2K8 post-patch to MLB2K9, even though I did feel 2K9 was an improvement. It just felt somewhat bland for some reason. But I've never gotten the need of some to overstate the game's issues as if 2K9 was some horrible abomination that comes close to comparing to really bad games like MLB2K6, Madden '06, Live '07, etc. It's like some will only consider the game a success or a complete failure; there can be no in-between. Looking forward to seeing what VC has done w/this year's game though

You're right about that. You mentioned only madden 06, but I would include all of them until 10, and even 10 is only ok not good or great.

I thought both 2K8 and 2K9 played a decent game of baseball after the patches. They had issues that were overbown in the fanboy wars. The Show is definitely the better game, and many gamers just have a hard time dealing with accepting that the game they get is second best.

That said, I won't buy another baseball game without stick for pitching and hitting as 2K has done. I hope 2K10 will be an improvement, but it is a day one purchase for me. The fact is, I enjoyed both 2K8 and 2K9.

No edge for me, it's a definite buy. I expect the reviews to be overly negative like they are every year about anything 2k, so I take those with a grain of salt. After the NHL and NBA games, I'm confident that VC will make great improvements in the game this year.

lol, i have no prob accepting that. there are times i will wish i had a ps3 so i can play that ridiculously good game!! i watch gameplay videos all the time, even though i know i wont be able to play it!!

A few questions if anyone can help .
1. if we use button hitting can you still check swing .
Now the big one I tried playing this game last year on the ps3 but it looked horrible with poor frame rate .
So if they slighty improved this I might make this my baseball game this year but can anyone tell me were there real working sliders in this game last year as I prefer to have some type of control and feel like Im actually playing 100% of the time and not have scripted or forced AI logic
Example : If I throw a ball low and wide it wont magically go down the middle will it ?
I know 2k10 may not have all the bells and whistles so I can live with that as long as it feels like Im actually playing 100% of the time and not just watching helplessly.

How can they remove such a fundamental element to baseball such as the check swing?

I'm so confused and dissapointed to read about this....

I dunno, after being dissapointed about bugs the last couple of years, and now reading this..... I'm not buying this game off the shelf.

I'm waiting to get it used on the cheap most likely.

I got 2K9 used for $17 last year, and Im glad I didnt waste a cent more.

I'll be doing the same this year. I've been dissapointed too many times.

I MAY purchase the game after I finish my season with the other game. It would otherwise be a definite purchase, but I am waiting on how guys feel about no check swing in the game. I believe this is going to lead to a lot of frustration and I want to hear everyones take on it. If check swings haven't been removed from CLASSIC swings (and I haven't heard this confirmed yet), then a definite buy for me, otherwise I'm going to listen to this forum for feedback on how much the lack of it frustrates gamers.

Since I have a PS3, I'm not gonna buy it for PS3, but I have a decent computer that'll it run it well, so I may buy it for PC. The demo will most likely be out for PS3 before the PC, so I'll try the demo on the PS3 and make my decision based on that.

last year a bought a ps3 for the show, after 2k9 bombed. this year,i have already preordered the show , and had no intention of gettin 2k10. however, after reading a bit on it , i may check it out for the 360, if its impressive ill buy it. i will DEF get the demo. i used to be a huge 2k fan, and used to like it over sonys game. so hopefully this game will get me back to baseball on my 360. im rootin for ya 2k! woo!

I'm still going to buy it because I love baseball games to begin with. I'm not all butt-hurt with the check swings, who cares. If they left out something like stealing bases, then I would be mad.

Lol exactly. Check swings aren't the way baseball is played, it is a part of the game, but its something that happens not what you would do in order to play the game.
