I think 2K is not that far off from making a good game. Last year was a disaster and they know that. They know a lot of people have them on a short leash this year. The bottom line is that no game will ever be perfect, but I find myself guilty of wanting perfection in games when that is not going to happen.
If 2K can just tighten some things up, that will be great. I am thrilled that they gave us full editing capacity back (something that should have never been taken out). By the screenshots and previews I've seen, the presentation looks top notch. If they can limit or eliminate some of the main bugs and glitches, this game could really make a strong effort this year. If it's plagued with some of the same glitches as last year, then obviously I won't purchase it.
I'm being cautiously optimistic. I don't buy 2K's fluff with the sizzle trailers... I am reading the Game Informer blog and the guy seems immersed in the game. He admitted as much. Again, I just hope everyone is a smart consumer and only buys this game if it's worth a purchase. If you enjoyed last year's game, that's great. I enjoyed it at times too, but I just refuse to be suckered into a first-day purchase this year. 2K has to earn my business back this year but the thing is, I am more than willing to let them - just put out a solid effort.
