that's cool. i don't understand why people get insecure about video games. Not that he was or you were or maybe you were. I have no idea lol. I honestly don't care. You have an opinion. I think this game is going to surprise some people though who are so quick to trash it.

I was looking at the screen shots of this game vs the show here. The show is an amazing game and is really capping what they can with the amount of stuff on screen, but i'm really impressed with the underlying physics and player models in this game. I know a thing or two abotu computers and I'm looking at the basic models and 2k10 is impressive. This game is not as far off as people think it is.

My issue is i can have mature debate on these things where other people can't, but the Show is capping out with what they can do with their physics. 2k10 is just getting started. There are reasons why when people play this game they are going to think it's more fun. It might not end being as polished or looking as nice or complete in a lot of areas, with the shows attention to detail, certain aspects might feel a bit empty, but I can almost guarentee it's going to be fun and different.

Look at the screenshots here of both games next to each other and watch the videos i posted above. This game is going to be pretty nice. Not many people have realized it yet. I just did about 4 hours ago when i was poking around.

In other words. Don't believe the hype. Believe what i'm saying to you lol.

There was nothing wrong with your post with the question that was asked, and I think a lot of people, who don't post feel the same way with it getting this late in the month and hardly anything to base an opinion on. (and they are all opinions until the game is actually released and we get our hands on it).

I don't think the game is going to be "bad", but I don't think it will live up to any type of hype (and I'm seeing it here, and that's all good. Who doesn't want two great games).

That said, my personal opinion, this is YEAR ONE of rebuilding what was a GREAT start in 08. We'll see release day, but I'm pulling for this to be, at least for me, a decent game that won't frustrate the heck out of me.

A decent game, which will hopefully not have any gamekilling bugs/glitches. I'm not expecting anything great, but something that is fun and plays decently.

Re: What are your realistic expectations for this game?

I'm guessing it will be a tighter, more polished version of last years game as far as game play goes. I assume there will probably be a fairly big bug with one of the new additions (it wouldn't be a 2K baseball game otherwise). I imagine there will still be issues gameplay-wise that will drive some of us sim-guys nuts that the majority of people won't notice or care about.

Over the last few years we've had: the AI steal issue (computer wouldn't do it). AI pitcher logic issue (pitchers would randomly be pulled in the 4th or 5th inning of a solid game). 1st baseman pulling his foot issue. Outfielders dropping routine fly ball issue. AI roster management issue (Guys like Pujols would get injured and stay down in the minors). The meat ball issue (any missed gesture pitch would be a BP fastball). And I'm sure I'm missing several others...I imagine something of this level will show it's face in this game in one way or another.

I'm also not expecting a lot from in-game manager AI from one team to another. In other words, I'm not expecting different team personalities from one team to another. I don't expect teams that are geared to play small ball, move runners, hit and run and steal bases to actually do it any differently than a team that sits back and waits for the three-run homer. However, I hope this is something they work on in the near future.

I'm expecting a 7/10 "base" game, with the proverbial "if they patch x, y & z it could be a 9/10," followed by a couple of game-breaking bugs that don't get patched. End result: 7.5/10.

I hope the game will be much improved but I want to keep my expectations at a minimum right now.

I'm just hoping that all of the improvements that have been blogged about work as advertised. And that there are no huge bugs that destroy the experience.

Also it would be great if we get powerful sliders to iron out any gameplay issues we might run into.

Fingers crossed...I really want two great games.

All I expect is an enjoyable game. 2K9, with its problems, was barely playable let alone enjoyable. I expect it to look better as well. My hopes aren't too high though. My outlook is still good but not enough to buy it before renting. Especially since we don't have a video or demo.

at the very least, I am hoping they fixed the awful fielding issues from last year. Would make the game alot more playable.

Re: What are your realistic expectations for this game?

In 2k9 they had the way you played the game going into the right direction. The controls and everything made it a blast to play, but unfortunately all the little bugs kept it from working as fluidly as I'd like and prevented it from being as enjoyable as it should have been.

I really expect VC to turn it around and make this game be light years better than 2k9. From the screens I've seen, almost everything looks better already. The only thing that hasn't changed too much is the main graphics, but they weren't exactly bad last year anyways.

With a full year to work on the game I don't expect any of the bugs that were present last year, so I'll cross my fingers on that one. If they made some minor tweaks to the game play and how the sliders work I expect this to be a very enjoyable game despite what some of the "others" want to believe.

While I expect it to be a solid game, I won't be buying it for a couple of weeks. I'll probably be occupying all my time with Final Fantasy and don't want to waste money on a game I won't be playing much.

Re: What are your realistic expectations for this game?

I've gone from cautiously optimistic to being somewhat excited about this game. I can understand people being cautious though for sure and not wanting to be let down. Hopefully 2k's actions will speak louder than words this year. The way I look at it is this though. From what I've seen the game looks great to me. If there are flaws and certain thigns wrong with it, which I'm sure there will be, I'm just going to enjoy the game for what it is or what I think it will be at this point. Which is a much improved game over the past few years.

I know we haven't even really seen gameplay yet but from the footage and insights and the gameinformer blog there has been quite a bit of information if you look for it. It doesn't make sense to me that 2k wouldn't want to market something if it isn't indeed good, because most people are going to assume it sucks and not even give it a look. But maybe they don't want to market too hard in fear people who are giving the game a look, will get their hopes up, know what to expect, and hten nitpick every little thing. Maybe the game being surprisingly good, and word getting out that way will be better. Sometimes not knowing what to expect and being pleasantly surprised is better marketing.

Wouldn't it be nice to see reviews start rolling in around the 8.5-9.0 mark. I know that's probably not gonna happen, but I would love to see something like that happen.

I can almost guarentee gameinformer is going to give the game at least an 8.5. They gave last years a 7.8 and the dude is addicted to t his years apparently. It got trashed everywhere else though. Some reviewers will give it good reviews i bet but some places won't even look at it and give it a bad review. I'm guessing it gets reviews like Live did. Maybe a little less because 2k isn't as much the hype machine EA is. But probably around high 7 and 8's.
