Yes, there is a manage mode. It is text-based (similar to MVP 2005 manage mode), where the X button pitches to batter, square button pitches around batter, etc. Batting has options for bunt, swing for HR, steal, hit & run, etc.
You can also jump in to live action & back out to manage mode during the game.

What I was getting at with you, this thread was talking about MLB2k10 for the PSP, and you were talking about the Show PSP version, does it make sense now.
Don't go gettin' all sensitive on me. I wasn't even the guy that mentioned the PSP version of MLB 10.

And yea, it is a lot better than last year.

Add me as another interested in the PSP version. Played The Show 06, 08, and 09, but want a change.
            Thanks in advance for impressions!

So still no impressions? I haven't heard a single word about this game for the psp anywhere online and I have no clue whether it is worth the purchase..

Yeah, I just came across both MLB 2k10 and the Show 10 in Best Buy today and I'm wondering the same thing. I have an idea how the Show is since I've played the PSP '07 and '08 versions without much of a difference and I'm very curious how 2k10 stacks up. Surely SOMEONE has played it.....?

                        Re: MLB 2K10 PSP Version

So sorry fellas. I actually began playing the game shortly after I made my new initial post and then had a family emergency. So I only had the opportunity to start a franchise with the Yankees and play four innings of the actual game.

In regards to the actual game, I don't see a big improvement in graphics from last years version, but the gameplay feels a lot smoother. One small that I was having while pitching with CC was that I was having little problem striking the CPU out. However, I don't wanna say its really a problem because it was only four innings and I didn't touch the sliders quite yet. I do not look the default speed of the pitches. Too slow for my liking but I'm pretty sure that can be changed with a slider also. Pitcher fatigue seemed to be working well and fielder arm strngth doesn't seem to be the problem that it is on the next gen versions.

I know that's not a lot but that's based off of four innings of play. Bout to start playing again in about 15 minutes as I finally have some time to just relax. Please ask any more questions and ill be happy to answer.

Do you bat & pitch with the analog stick like in the next gen version?

Nah, its all just the X button. Which I don't necessarily have a problem with for the psp version. I still would have liked the option though.
