    Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

What do you guys think about this trade?

    Twins offered me

LP Brian Duensing - 72 OVR
    3B Nick Punto - 73 OVR

for Eric Young and Omar Quintamilla, initially. I countered and replaced Eric Young with Spilborghs, so my end of the deal looked like this.

OF Ryan Spilborghs - 79 OVR
SS Omar Quintamilla - 67 OVR

I relished the idea of getting Spilborghs off my team, as he was just wasting space on my bench and was definitely not gonna play over Seth Smith if need be. I also liked the idea of promoting Eric Young, a switch hitter, up to the MLB so I could get a good OF in against Leftys (Both my current LFs, Carlos Gonzalez and Seth Smith, are lefties). I also liked the idea of strengthening my bullpen with Duensing.

What do you guys think? Realistic Trade? Did I screw the Twins?

Sure why not. It's not an Earth-shattering trade, and gives you the ability to add a BP-arm and a defensive specailist while also strengthening the bench to give you a switch-hitting bat and pinch-run option.

        Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

In Duensing's first game he pitched 2 scoreless innings with 2 Ks

and Eric Young is something like 3-6 with 3 runs scored as well as 2 steals in his short time on the club

I'll probably do some more bullpen maneuvering as well, probably gonna send Corpas up to the MLB as Chacin has been struggling recently.

Ill do a full games update later on how my PHI and WAS series went.

          Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

Pitched Strasburg's debut in my franchise yesterday. I debuted him on 31 May, on the road in Houston -vs- Oswalt. Nats lost 2-0 as Oswalt held them to 3 hits, and struck out 11 in a CG shutout. He'll make his Washington debut against Cincy. With Houston having a similarly horrid record I was hoping to get Strasburg a win, but nope...

Played a David Price game too as the Rays vs TOR. Won 4-3 but went 0-fer w/ Longoria. Pena had a 2-RBI double to account for half my TB runs.

Pitched an Erik Bedard start w/ SEA @ home vs Minny. Bedard pitched a solid 7 innings holding Minny to 2 runs and striking out 6. His ERA dropped from 8.00 to the mid-7's. I got him off the hook for the loss w/ an Ichiro hit w/ 2 outs and runners in scoring pos. However, Ichiro was gunned down at 2nd trying to stretch it to end the inning. Mark Lowe pitched a scoreless 8th, but gave up the go-ahead run in the 9th w/ a solo-HR to Justin Morneau. Nathan shut the door on me after that, SEA lost 3-2.

Pitched a Marlins @ Mets game next using Johan again. Struck out 7 through 7 innings, and pulled Johan in the 8th after allowing runners to reach 1st and 2nd. Pedro Feliciano would get out of the inning, lead entact, stranding the runners, but K-Rod blew the save in the 9th after an Uggla double to lead off the T9th and a Cody Ross 2r HR. The homerun put Florida up by 1, and they'd close the door on me in the 9th w/ Mike MacDougal getting the save, NYM lost 4-3.

Next I'm pitching another Halladay start, and then a King Felix start, then will be doing the amatuer draft...

Ok, got this game yesterday, and i love it. Doing a franchise with the Dodgers. I'm currently 3-3 and just came off a 11 inning loss to the Marlins.

My pitching has been decent, but hitting has been very mediocre. Besides Ethier, Manny, and Blake Dewitt, my batting has struggled. Rafeal Furcal has been horrid, he's batting like .088 so far Im thinking about leeting him go and picking up a better lead off man. Ill update again later today

                5-0 for me now.
                Diamondbacks game 2.
There was a whole lot of nothin' doin' for much of the game. Just a Doumit solo HR and a squeeze play for a small lead. Then they take out their starter who was doing fine in the bottom of the 5th for a pinch hitter. It went downhill for them after that and I end up winning 9-0.

I think I'll move Phillips to the bottom of the lineup,it's just not working with him and move Alverez to 3rd against lefties instead of his normal 4th.

                    Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

Pitched two 1-0 wins last night:

One w/ Halladay, who struck out 10 through 7, and I lifted him in the 8th w/ him leading off the inning. He had only given up 4 hits, but I needed to try and get some insurance runs. I would load the bases, but Ryan Howard struck out to end the inning. Didn't matter as Romero, Madson, and Lidge shut the door in the 8th and 9th.

Next played as the M's. Their suddenly becoming my favortie team to play as. Pitched w/ King Felix. Struck out 6, surrendered 4 hits, walked one, and allowed zero runs through 8 innings. Finally got a run in, in the B8th after Joel Piniero walked Figgins, Ichiro advanced him to 3rd, and Milton Bradley singled up the middle for the games only run. This win completed a 3 gm sweep of the 1st place Angels, and push Seattle to one game over .500.

Wouldn't have nearly as much success in the above two games, that I did in my final game last night. Pitched as Cliff Lee to open a road series against Texas. Lee gave up 6 hits in the 1st inning, and allowed 4 runs. he did strike out 2, but he just didn't have his good stuff. I'd cut the Texas lead in half after the T2nd scoring 2 runs, but Lee then gave up back to back HRs in the B2nd to Elvis Andrus and Michael Young. That would spell the end of his day, and lefty Garrett Olson was called in, in longrelief. He pitched a solid 4.1 innings of 1 hit ball, striking out 4, before imploding himself and giving up 4 more Texas runs. Texas would go on to win 11-2, and finish w/ 17 hits; 3 HRs, 3 2Bs, 1 3B.

They really need to improve the cpu hitting in the next patch, and I am not just saying this because you pitched 2 1-0 games. I have tried every slider set known to man and can not get the cpu to hit at all. In my Reds season through 35 games I have a team ERA of 3.12 and it is 2.08 the last 10 games.

I am currently 4-7 with Braves; I found some great sliders with Classic hitting, Fraleys's is the name on 2K share. All I did is increase human power a bit and human base running speed. I have had all kinds of games, been awesome.

I just had the most insane game in my Mets franchise.

My pitchers just collapsed, especially Nieve, did absolutely nothing. He gave up about 7 hits in 2/3rds of an inning, allowing Colorado to come back from a huge deficit.

Okay, I win my series against Tampa Bay and it does the autosave thing, but now I can't get into my next game, which is against Colorado. I just tried twice to go in, I select play game, and both times, the game froze before the controller select screen could appear for that game. I think I may have run into the dreaded franchise freeze.

You did see that the Rangers dropped 11 on me right? That was w/ Cliff Lee pitching for the M's too. Sometimes it's who you're facing that dictates the lack of CPU offense.
