    Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

Well I just finished the first month of the season with the Mets going 12-11 in April currently the Mets are third in the NL East behind the Marlins and the Nationals believe or not, but above the Phillies and the Braves in dead last.

I've been playing and simming about 50/50 of my games, mainly pitching the Johan starts. One thing is for sure Niese is utter trash currently 0-2 in 5 starts with a 7.66 ERA while tossing up a whopping 5 homers.. Oddly enough Johan isn't running away with the best statistics of my Mets starters. Johan is 3-0 in 5 starts with a 3.63 ERA with 34Ks in 34.2 innings. However John Maine is the true surprise here going 2-1 in 5 starts with 2.45 ERA. Pelfrey has been another disappointment going 1-3 in 5 starts with a 5.88 ERA. K-Rod is 9 for 9 in save chances. Jenry Meija has turned into my setup man providing 3 Holds, with a 1.54 ERA striking out 22 in 19.2 innings.

Now for the offense, David Wright has found the stroke hitting 5 homers in the month of April, while knocking in 17 runs and is currently batting .312. Castillo is batting .350 while knocking in 14 at one point he had a 10 game RBI streak, he also swiped 7 bags. Big Free Agent Jason Bay is batting .307 with 3 homers and 14 RBIs. I brought up Jose Reyes in the middle of April and while batting lead off he's hitting .289 with 6 RBIs and has 6 steals.

I can figure to have a decent year between Santana/Maine/Perez who has been serviceable, however Pelf and Niese have been anything but consistent. I'm still waiting on Jacobs to deliver and give him another couple weeks and then perhaps call up Ike Davis.

    Some stats around the league at the end of the month;

    ARod - .387 12 HR 26 RBI
    Mauer - .307 10 HR 23 RBI
    Pujols - .344 6 HR 19 RBI
    Uggla - .330 11 HR 32 RBI
Nyjer Morgan leads the league with 14 SB, Ellsbury is second with 11.

Dan Haren is 4-0 with a 1.30 ERA in 5 starts and teammate Brandon Webb is 4-0 with a 1.75 ERA in also 5 starts.

It appears that the game is bugged for Tim Lincecum, he's 0-2 in 5 starts with a gaudy 7.66 ERA, also former Cy Young winner Cliff Lee is 0-2 with a 7.54 ERA in 5 starts and leads the league by giving up 8 HRs. So far Wang and Peavy are the only 2 pitchers to throw complete game shutouts.

      Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

It was July 4th today in my franchise, and I would like to say I thought it was cool that they had a special overlay for the 4th(heard they also do for St. Patty's day). Well, it was filled with fireworks for my cubbies.

Bottom 1, David DeJesus steps in and on a 2 strike count hits a line drive blast that goes out to give us the early one run lead.

Fast forward to the bottom of the third, one out. Gil Meche singles, first hit as a cub(hitting .100 ). Then Theriot doubles, but DeJesus lines out to the pitcher the next pitch, two out. Derek Lee steps in with men on 2nd and third, and just bloops one into shallow right to drive in Meche and make it first and third for Aramis Ramirez. A-Ram goes deep and gives us a 5-0 lead.

Top 6th Meche got into some trouble. Gave up 3 runs, and the reds were still threatening with 1st and third one out. I thought about taking him out, but my pen was gassed so I had to stick with him. He got Chris Dickerson to ground into a double play to end the inning.

Top 7th, Jay Bruce takes Esmilan Caridad deep to narrow the lead to 1 run. I still lead 5-4.

Farnsworth cruised through the 8th keeping the lead in tact.

Top 9, Marmol comes in to shut the door with Guzman unavaliable. He got through the inning 1-2-3 and we win 5-4.

Only one week until the all star break. I can't wait to play it, because I'll get to play with lots of players I normally wouldn't.

Timmy L is an absolute beast in my franchise. I think he's 10-2 with a 2.97 ERA. Can't wait to pitch with him in the all star game next week.

Yea...updating this post: Erik Bedard got blasted, allowing 6 earned runs over 4 innings. Mark Teixiera opened it wide-open for NY when he blasted a 3rHR to right-center. Seattle lost the series, and fell back to 2 games below .500.

Next up was another 3-game road match, this one w/ DET: Seattle took game 1 5-2 after Ryan Rowland-Smith pitched 7 strong innings of 1-run ball, David Aardsma got the save striking out Miggy Cabrera to end it in the 9th. Simmed the next game, Yusmiero Petit got railed for 7 runs in 2/3 an inning, and Seattle lost 13-2.

July 4th: King Felix took the bump looking to get a much needed series win, and road win for the M's...Seattle responded giving Felix plenty of run support en route to a 7-2 victory and Felix Hernandez's 11th victory of the year for the July 4th victory. No homers were hit, but Adam Dunn, Ichiro, Kotchman, and Crede all doubled in runs.

Back to Seattle: July 5th the M's began a 7-game homestand leading up to the 2010 ASB. Played gm 1 of the KC @ SEA series. Cliff Lee took the ball vs Luke Hochevar. Lee would scatter/strand KC hits/runners all game long. He was not as dominant as his outing against the Yanks, as he gave up 10 hits over 7 innings, but he pitched a good game striking out 4 and allowing only 1 run to score (6th inning).

Hochevar would only last 4.2 innings after surrendering 5 runs (4 earned), and the KC bullpen just got annihilated as Seattle would end up winning 15-1.

        KC 1 10 1 (XBH 1 2B)
        SEA 15 16 0 (XBH 3 2B's; 4 HRs)

        LP Hochevar 4.2IP 6H 4ER 3BB 5K

-Dave Weathers allowed 6 ERs, Joe Biemel 4 ERs.
        -Adam Dunn hit homers: 13, 14, & 15 and finished w/ 8 RBI; 3rHR, GS, solo-HR.
-Ichiro went 3/5: 3 runs scored, 2B, and HR (2r).
-Kotchman & Crede hit RBI 2Bs.
-Mike Aviles drove in only KC run in 6th; RBI single.
        -M's had a: 4r 3rd, 1r 5h, 2r 6th, and 8r 7th.

In 300 ABs w/ the Nats, Dunn was hitting about .210 w/ only 11 HRs. Through 7 games w/ the Mariners, Dunn has hit 4 HRs, is hitting .360, and has drove in 11 runs.

              Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

I think I'm going to love using Adam Dunn. I'm going to hit as many HRs as I possibly can w/ him. The M's are going to need me to as well. It seems even easier to hit HRs w/ Dunn than Ryan Howard . I think it's because Dunn's contact rates vs righties are a little better.

Going to be fun seeing how many I can knock out. Hopefully I don't unlock the "Break a record in franchise" achievement at the end of the season, and can attempt to break Bonds' single-season HR record using Adam Dunn.

Duke - Unlike you w/ Jermaine Dye, and having had suffered through scoring runs w/ the M's pre-Adam Dunn, I'm going to love evey HR I hit w/ Dunn.

Haha, I'll take David DeJesus over Dye anyday . Nice to see you're enjoying Dunn so far, hope his success continues for you.

Speaking of DeJesus though, he has been great for me. Through 27 games he's hitting .339, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homeruns and 19 RBI's.

I was 2-2 with the Tigers to start the season and then went 1-7 to sit at 3-9 I was winning the game 8-5 in the 9th inning 2 outs and the bases loaded and allowed a walk off grand slam. The next night I hosted the Twins and pulled out a 6-2 victory to get the Tigers up to 4-9. I love this game man, struggling to get out the gate has my pumped to play better.
                  Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

i sit at 5-2 after losing the opening game of a 3 game series with the angels. I finally have the right sliders, runs hits pitch count is realistic now...Lost 4-3 to the angels after getting down 3-0 after 2 innings, made it 3-2 with a 2run HR for granderson...made a baserunning mistake, tried to stretch a double inot a triple with texiera, he was thrown out by about 10 steps, i felt like willie mays hayes from major league, 3rd baseman was waiting there with the ball...and of course arod comes up alines a single to right center, would have scored texiera...gave up a bomb to matsui in his return to yankee stadium...ok outing for burnett, 6 1/3 7 strikeouts 1 walk 4 runs....

now that i have these sliders i am very happy with this game

                            I'm still undefeated. 17-0 now I think.

I raised the hitting slider for the AI thinking it would get them more runs but it got them less because they started swinging at really bad pitches and frequently hitting into double plays and even a would've been triple play had there not be 1 out already.

Then I raised the power slider and that just made them hit into double plays faster. I think I finally got it when I raised the power slider again and put the hitting slider back down. After a piddly 3-0 win for me with 9 hits and the AI having 5 hits they had 11 hits and 2 runs last game so that was an improvement,I however had 22 and won 7-2.

I'm also still completly lost on Doumit. Dude is an absolute BEAST. For some perspective Prince Fielder has 7 HRs (was the leader until my series with the Brewers),Doumit has 6. Finally threw someone out,it was Borne too.

moved out of the cellar in the AL Central now 5-9 and had my first back to back wins of the season. Jeremy Bonderman is a beast for me sitting at 3-0 with a 1.66 ERA in 22 innings over 3 starts and has 9 K's with 1 BB. I am struggling to hit HR's as I have 12 in 14 games and rank last in all of MLB.
                              Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.
