M thought is who would want to play with a team that loaded. Who can excite in accomplishments when they are given to your by your OVR numbers and not earned by crafty skills?

Alright so I haven't exactly thought out how I'm going to accomplish this but I'll find a way to get it done don't you worry. And yeah, it is pretty unrealistic but it will be fun nonetheless. Who wouldn't pay to see a team that loaded?

I'd start the package with Tex and Phil Hughes, to be realistic and all... Then find the Yankees top three prospects and throw them in as well.

I wasnt calling you by any means slickzeus, Sorry If I came across like that. It was more enroute as comical. But yeah it does bring out some ideas real or not of what anyone can do with their Chises'

All this Opening Day stuff, I am waiting aswell and doing a Fantasy Franchise with the Royals. Of course, if not taken, first selection will be Zack Greinke.

Going to mostly do My Player at first, get signed on the Pirates and see if we can turn things around. So long since we've had a winning season...

Then when things are settled, probably do a franchise with them and see what happens.

I think you're mistaken because the developer insights on the 2k site say diffrently.

I think he's right JB. It talks about compensatory picks, but not arbitration

Compensation picks essentially work like this: if you are unable to re-sign a top player on your team and you lose him to free agency (as is frequently the case with many low payroll teams), you will get compensation in the form of draft picks for losing that player. Depending on how good the player is, you will get either the first round draft pick from the team that signs him and a compensation pick (which occurs in the Supplemental Round of the Amateur Draft) if the player was considered a Type A player or just a compensation pick if the player was considered a Type B player.

Braaaaaaaves franchise. Probably wait until opening day rosters and heyward is added.

I'll play some games to get my sliders right in the meantime and maybe create myself as the Braves 2B since that's what I played back in highschool!

I can't wait to get this game in my hands tomorrow! I am going to rename as many players and minor leaguers that I can and start a franchise with the Phillies! I loved the demo and can't wait to get this season started.

I've edited all-30 team's contracts, simmed through most of spring trainging, set CPU lineups, etc and played opening day tonight.

I decided I'm going to start off by pitching only Halladay's games w/ the Phillies, and then play as Pitt until Roy's next start.

So, I played opening day, and it was a nail-biter. It was PHI at WAS, Marquis vs Halladay.

The first inning I got a leadoff walk by Rollins, stole 2nd, and then Pudge dropped a called third strike w/ Victorino and made a throwing error to first so I had runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs. I'd end up doing nothing w/ this, and it would be sometime before I got runner on again.

Fast forward to the 7th inning, and Jason Marquis is pitching a no-hitter to start the T7th w/ Victorino coming up. FINALLY I get a hit, and Victorino hit's a base knock into left. Wouldn't end up doing anything in the inning though.

Halladay was awesome. I absolutely love pitching w/ him. He gave up 5 hits in a CG shutout. The Nats were scaring in the 8th when Pudge singled, Willy Taveras came in to pinch-run, and then stole 2nd...but I'd end up picking him off and getting Adam Kennedy to ground out.

So, it's the T9th, w/ the top of the order coming up, both SPs still in the game. Rollins gets his 2nd walk of the game, I use Victorino to sacrifice Jimmy to 2nd w/ Utley coming.

Utley's 0-3 w/ 1 K and Marquis gets him to a 1-2 count, then throws to balls, and it's a full count. Two or three defensive swings later I hit a liner to center field, Rollins scores from 2nd, and that would be all she wrote for Washington. Halladay would shut them down 1, 2, 3 in the B9th and Philly wins their first game of the year 1-0.

My team's currently 5-10 in Spring Training, so I went out and signed Jonny Gomes from free agency. We shall see how this works out. I'm playing as Toronto, btw.
