I don't really think Cleveland has a need for Bradley. I never really did that good w/ him, and he's only a decent option versus left handed pitching.

Oh...Who's playing 3rd for you? I signed Crede and he was awesome, but you could move Bradley for a 3B; Jose Lopez was terrible for me.

Maybe some pitching? Of course you'd have to give up more for a decent arm though...

I left Kotchman at 1st, moved Figgins to 2nd, and Crede became my 3B. You'll love Adam Dunn though...he made all the difference, and will be signing a longterm deal w/ Seattle.

Atmosphere...There's not an empty seat, you have the NLDS logo in the foul areas, crowd seems a lot louder, and win a hit a 3r HR w/ Howard the roar from the crowd was louder than previous 3r bombs.

As for the announcers...I didn't really notice that much different. Yea...they still need to bring home the playoff feel.

PHILLIES TAKE A 2-0 LEAD ON COLORADO

Cole Hamels scattered 6 hits over 7 innings, striking out 7, and was magnificent once again in the postseason. He allowed one run on a Miguel Olivo solo-HR in the 6th inning which put Colorado on the board w/ the Phillies leading 4-1. With Hamels due to lead off the B7th, Charlie Manuel decided to pinch hit him, and it proved to be a success as Ross Gload led the inning off w/ a double into the RF gap; he'd later score to push the Phillies lead to 5-1.

JC Romero pitched the 8th inning, striking out 2, and his appearance was extended to the 9th where he struck out the first batter but walked the next...

In came Ryan Madson to close the game out w/ a 5-1 lead, one out, and a runner on. However, Madson would struggle allowing two runs to score, and with 2 outs and runners on 3rd and 2nd in stepped Brad Hawpe....to say I was nervous was an understatement... Madson was able to get ahead of the count though and on a 1-2 pitch sent a cutter in high and tight. Hawpe fought it off, but sent a routine flyball to left-center, which Victorino caught, and the game was over.

Phillies win 5-3 and head to Colorado to close the series out in a clean sweep.

The rest of the divisional round has seen the O's sweep the White Sox. The Yankees are also down 2-1 to Texas, and the Cardinals lead the series w/ ATL 2-1.

Started a Brewers 'chise the other day to go with my O's one. Made a few trades, mostly the excess starters (Suppan, Vargas, and Doug Davis), to help my bullpen. I know they would be a big help, but I don't like having 4 guys in my bullpen with stamina over 70, it'd be good for a rough game, but I prefer the traditional style bullpen. Didn't shake up the roster much besides that. Had to trade Zaun away to get younger at catcher. Might try making a huge package deal to get Colby Rasmus from the Cards. Lost the first game of the franchise 1-0, Yo pitched a 2 hitter, but one of those hits was a solo shot. Also had 8K's to go with those 2 hits given up.

Might get a couple games in today of both franchises if I'm in the mood today. Weather is way to nice to be inside.

NCAA Football - Wisconsin, LSU, Virginia Tech
                    Soccer - Arsenal, Wolverhampton

PHILLIES FALL TO STL IN GM 1 OF NLCS

The 2010 NLCS kicked off in St Louis as the Cards finished w/ the best record in the NL w/ a 97-65 record, finishing ahead of Philadelphia by 3 games.

Adam Wainwright was amazing! He had a shutout working through 8 and 1/3 innings until Ryan Howard put Philly on the board w/ a solo-HR to RF. The shot was only the Phillies 6th hit, and the score was cut to 5-1 w/ Philadelphia still needing a HUGE rally to get back into the game w/ 1 out in the 9th.

Roy Halladay was not himself, at least not the Halladay that we had seen dominating the league all year. The very first pitch of the game was a Skip Schumaker double to LF which sort of set the tone for how this game was going to go.

Although Halladay struck out 11 through 5 innings, he also allowed 11 hits and 2 runs to cross. The two runs he allowed crossed the plate on a Matt Holiday double to the RF gap. Halladay was lifted for a pinch hitter after pitching 5 shaky innings, and pinch hitter Gregg Dobbs took advantage w/ a single in the SS/3B hole but leadoff man Jimmy Rollins who has really been struggling at the plate this postseason (hitting .063) struck out for the 2nd time, and Placido Polanco grounded out to end the inning.

Brad Lidge, who had been relegated to middle relief, came on in the B6th and made quick work of Adam Wainwright and Skip Schumaker, but w/ 2 outs Brendan Ryan battled off pitches on a 3-2 count and finally singled up the middle bringing up Brad Lidge nemesis Albert Pujols....You probably know what happened here right...? That's right, 1st pitch, a slider that catches too much of the plate gets rocketed opposite field for a 2r HR. STL up 4-0...

STL would manage one more run, and Adam Wainwright would K 10 and walk 4...his curve is devestating.

I hope that Cole Hamels can get me a win in game 2. After dominating the Rockies, it's scary facing the Cards.

I'm only four games away from the All Star break on my franchise. I also did a minor trade with Texas, sending John McDonald to the Rangers for Khalil Greene.

PHILLIES STRIKE BACK, SHUTOUT CARDS IN GM2 OF NLCS

Philadelphia got the performance they were expecting in game 1 from Cole Hamels in game 2. After Adam Wainwright dazzled Philadelphia w/ his slow swooping curve and darting fastball, Cole Hamels kept the STL hitters off balance all night w/ a devestating circle change and 2-seam/4-seam mixing w/ his curve.

The result was a 9 inning 7 hit shutout striking out 10, but it doesn't stop there. Hamels also went 1-4 w/a run scored; his run scored coming after he singled to lead off the 9th and w/ the bases loaded scored after Jason Motte walked Chase Utley.

Chris Carpenter took the mound for STL, and had a decent outing, managing to get out of a 1st inning jam w/ 0 outs and 2 runners on; after Victorino and Polanco reached on back to back singles. Carpenter made two costly mistakes: His first came In the 4th after Raul Ibanez hit a solo HR for the game's first, and the 2nd in the 6th w/ no one on and 2 outs Carp fell behind Ryan Howard, at which point Howard made him pay w/ another solo shot.

Score would remain 2-0 until Hamels got things going in the T9th, and Philadelphia would score 3 runs: One off the Utley walk w/ the bases loaded, and 2 off a bases loaded single from Ryan Howard scoring Victorino and Polanco.

With Rollins struggling at the plate, Charlie Manuel moving Victorino from the 7 spot to leadoff paid dividends as Victorino reached base 3 times on 3 singles, scoring once. Rollins had another 0-fer/multi-K night going 0-3 w/ 2 Ks.

The series will travel to Philly and game 3 of the 2010 NLCS will pit Joe Blanton against Kyle Lohse.

Alright, so I got addicted to this game again.

                            Update on my Rockies franchise
                            :

Its the end of May, the Rockies are 29-15 I'm about to start a 3-game set at home vs. Arizona, who are having a dreadful season at 15-30 while placing last in the NL West. I've been having some difficulty getting wins lately, but thanks to my red-hot April start

Around the league, the Cards have a 1 game lead over the Cubs in the NL Central with a 30-15 record. In the east, the Marlins are 26-18 and have 2 game lead over the Phillies. Theres really a 4-team race going on in the NL East, with the Nationals floating in last place.

In the AL East, the Yankees currently lead the Rays by 2 games with a 28-16 record, while the O's arent far behind with a 24-20 record. In the AL Central, the Tigers are running away with the division, holding a 6 game lead over the White Sox. The West is dead even, with every team within a game or 2 of each other. The Angels currently are tied for the lead with the Mariners though.

Hoping to get some games going this week. Baseball is wrapping up for me, so I'll have more time to play some franchise games.

Well, I had to restart my Mets franchise, as I accidentally erased the save file ... doh!

I was only 10 games in, so not a big deal.

Anyway, I'm 0-2 right now. Bullpen has blown the lead in both games.

With no Carlos Beltran, the Mets' lineup is really limited offensively. I have to play small ball and try and piece together my runs because I just don't have enough power, especially for the big Citi Field ballpark.
