Yeah has anyone uploaded a roster with all correct team/player budgets online yet?

I'm thinking about possibly getting 2k10, just wondering other than the edit issues, are there any other issues once the budgets are corrected? I would like a challenge far as budgeting.

Far as I know you have to update these after starting franchise unfortunately.

Ok but once upgraded everything seems to work well, i.e. the team budgets are semi-correct and the CPU-controlled teams act within their budgets correctly?

Thats what I m reading everywhere, I am in process of doing it now. Amazing how far off everyteam is, all under amounts, for big players especially. should make offseason fun!! and during season a challenge.

Ive started that process as well. Do you think its a bad idea if I dont do all the teams right away? Like say, 10 teams per day or so, yet play games in between. Does this negatively affect anything if some teams have updated contracts and some dont?

adam & jaa - Just remember that after you initially set the budgets correctly, you'll have to write down the names of the players who DO enter free agency because another fundamentally flawed aspect of the game are the player's signing/agreeing to very low contract figures. I also suggest controlling all-30 teams so you can evaluate the likely candidates for free agency as well. Reason being is that some teams will see an increase in their budget which further compounds the problem.

If you don't control all-30 teams you're still going to be allowing CPU teams to sign players under their incorrect budget. Which will also mean that they'll be able to sign someone like Jermaine Dye to one of their horribly incorrect contracts. Regardless you can always edit, but the less editing the better.

I strongly suggest controlling all-30 teams though.

Man, I went back and forth on this one. I started a 'chise where I controlled all 30, but then restarted b/c I hate not getting trade offers or having some sort of trade approval/denial process on the AI's part. So, I'm editing every contract this season and we'll have to see what happens with FAs. If the resigning is screwed up still, I'll deal with it, but at least I know I've made all the edits I can.

One question, JBH, since I can edit CPU's rosters, can I potentially release all the FAs who I think wouldn't get re-signed into the FA pool, even if it's after the traditional FA period?

I am on team 14 now, takes a while. Do we have to do all of these before season starts, or can we take a break and play a few games?

Any talk about them patching this?

I gave up on the CPU trade offer process in NBA2K and just decided to base it on my knowledge of the game, and the dynamic aspects of my individual franchise i.e. a team's injuries, position in standings, financial situation, and/or talent-level at a single position etc.

Yea I believe you can do that too, but you end up having the CPU team taking a loss to their budget. So if you allow the CPU to resign their players to a huge/lengthy contract and don't want to see that player resigned to that team and release him then the team just got pegged on whatever they owe that player in salary.

I edited a little over 20 teams, and then saved that file seperately and started playing a few games. I've asked people to let me know how you upload a franchise file, but no one seems to know. I've seen folks upload association files before for NBA 2K so it can be done. If someone could tell me what to do I could post a franchise file w/ the first 20 teams edited correctly, or I could just complete the file but someone needs to tell me how to upload a franchise save.

I do not see option in uploads for franchise file, so maybe not.

Got my first road victory w/ the Pirates. Got the longball working too as 3B Pedro Alvarez knocked his first big league HR, a solo shot to left-center in the 2nd inning. Garrett Jones got his 2nd HR of the season knocking a 3rHR in the T3rd. McCutcheon would knock in the 5th run for Pitt after gounding out to 2nd w/ a runner on 3rd to get the SAC.

Charlie Morton pitched a 9 inning gem against the D'Backs. Limiting them to 7 hits over 9 innings, walking none, and striking out 6.

Pitt finished w/ 6 hits: 2HRs, 2B (AM), and 4 singles. I also got 2 walks and had 3 players hit by a pitch. Ironically it wasn't Alvarez or Jones who both homered.

Pretty sure it is still screwed up, because guys like Jeter will take 10 mil for 3 years. I simulated a season and Brandon Webb, Brad Penny, Rod Barajas, Griffey Jr, and Mike Jacobs were the only guys above a 78 overall to go into free agency. Most of the free agents were players who sat in free agency all year.

If you're really concerened about free agency, like JBH said, control all 30 teams and let the guys walk who you think should walk.
