Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
I decided to try with Crawford and got my first SB of the season. Helps that it was on a wild pitch too, lol.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
Hey everyone, this is my first post on OS and in this thread. I was inspired to go out and buy this game and start my franchise to share with you guys
I decided to play a game using the "play ball" option. I am the Yankees (not a fan, just using them)
I'm using mkharshs33 classic hitting slider, I might tweak it later.
I got two base hits off Halladay in the 3rd...he walked me again, but I had two outs, and he was able to get out of the jam. I am not too good at hitting, I will have to work on that.
Hallday unraveled after 3 solid innings of pitching. He walked bases loaded in the forth and walked me again to give me a run. I drove in a run with Jeter, and it was a tied game at 2-2. Halladay then walked me AGAIN, and Jose Contreras was brought into relieve him. I guess I do have patience at the plate
Bases loaded, 2 outs and A-Rod comes up to bat. Contreras would catch me looking. Sabathia would allow a homer in the 5th, but I decided to keep him in as he still had a few more pitches in him. I would pull in Rivera at the 9th, just to be safe. Well, he would allow a run in the ninth. I REALLY dislike pitching w/ him.
Lidge came in at the bottom of the ninth... He would retire Jeter, Granderson and Teixeira...
Phillies win it 4-3.
Keep em coming guys, I love reading this stuff!Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
I dont normally steal unless the pitcher takes awhile to get to the plate from the stretch.
Anyway, I have a fantasy Royals franchise that I do as well:
Currently 28-16 towards the end of May.. on a 5 game losing streak right now which stinks (I both play and sim my games). So far the stars of my team:
C Joe Mauer - .336, 6 HRs, 26 RBIs. Seems to get a hit every at bat almost.
1B Kendry Morales - .350, 14 HR, 40 RBI. Even better than Mauer. Great hitter.
DH Ken Griffey Jr. - .276, 9 HR, 30 RBI. Griffey has been a big surprise, every single one of his homeruns has been huge for me.
SS Ryan Roberts - .314, 4 HR, 14 RBI. Hitting over .300, pretty good for a relatively unknown SS.
Disappointing players:
RF Garrett Jones - .238, 5 HR, 22 RBI - Not hitting enough, and I expected more homeruns from him. I tend to strike out alot with him as well.
LF Nolan Reimold - .237, 5 HR, 18 RBI - Again, same thing with Garrett. Not hitting enough.
I actually ended up trading Reimold with another player to the Mariners for Carlos Gonzalez, just because I love Gonzo.
My pitching is pretty good. My rotation is as follows:
Jon Lester
Jered Weaver (I actually dont like pitching with him)
Johnny Cueto
Randy Wells
Ryan Rowland-Smith
My Bullpen, which is the best part of my team imo:
CL Carlos Marmol
SU Matt Thorton
MR Daniel Bard
MR Alfredo Aceves
MR Ramon Ramirez
LR Brandon League (his pitches are all amazing and rated really high, yet hes only a 72, its weird).Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
Just lost a game 4-2 even though I stole home legit for the 1st time.
I drew first blood. Cameron singled stole 2nd stole 3rd and with Ellsbury up and 2 outs I tried to get a 0-1 pitch down as a squeeze play. Well he missed the bunt and the catcher went to block the plate Cameron actually kicked the ball out of his glove. I was amazed. I knew you could barrel the catcher over a knock the ball loose but he actually kicked it out of the glove. I would go on to give up the lead and the game stranding runners on the corners to end the game.Comment

Originally posted by AlphaTrojanI would try and buy, 8 GB isn't impossible to overcome but some new pieces might be able to help.
On a side note, does anyone know if you can switch teams during a franchise? Similar to NBA 2k10.
I'm in last week of July now facing the Mets. Have about 5 days left to the deadline. The Cubs refuse to lose (60-39), with the 2nd best record in MLB, so I've now fallen 9 1/2 behind (in 3rd place), I'm about 6 GB WildCard.Comment

I don't like hitting against him, he steps way to the side and his whole motion just throws me off. I paid attention to him last night on tv against my Tigers and they got his motion down perfect in the game, though.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Speaking of pitching, hitting against sidearm pitchers PISSES ME OFF. I hate them.

Longoria isn't even in the AL MVP discussion, despite hitting .350 with 15 HR and 30 RBI and being top-5 in the league in hits.Comment

It takes me an inning or two to get used to them but once I do its easy to hit them.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress
19-22 now with my tigers. I was 18-18 after a 7-15 start. went 12-3 and now have lost 3 in a row. only playing a 104 game season I made a move early. I traded a AAA and AA player to Colorado for John Smoltz. I am still looking for a set up pitcher. I want to trade for Peralta but, the Indians are in first place in my franchise and I don't know if that trade would happen in real life.Gaming hard since 1988
I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.Comment

I am using him as a starter. As for the Peralta trade I know it happened in real life but, in my franchise the Indians are in 1st place and Peralta is hitting .317 with 10 HR's I dont know if they would trade him in that situation.Gaming hard since 1988
