They wouldn't. It depends on how you like to do your franchise, if you start with a base roster and play it out that way, pulling off your own trades and making decisions on who would do what based on records then I wouldn't do the deal.

I'm just doing a 1 season thing for my franchise. I made the Peralta trade just because I'm trying to have my rosters match up with reality. I even have Magglio, Guillen, and Zumaya in the minors.

Also trying to keep the other teams rosters up to date, but I don't touch their ratings, that's too time consuming. I have a spreadsheet on my computer and I type in the ratings from MLB Today then go into my franchise and update my players ratings. I had to edit a few minor league guys into Will Rhymes, Jeff Frazier, Robbie Weinhardt, etc...

I'm doing a fantasy draft one... the rule i have is that no players with actual pictures can be selected. I'm the Indians and will be starting up (probably) tonight. Some of the players I grabbed: Starlin Castro, Jose Iglesias, Justin Smoak, Austin Jackson, Chris Heisey, Jon Jay to name a few...

It was fun...took me around an hour or so, but I'm looking forward to learning the teams over the course of the season.

Started a NYMs one. Traded K-Rod to Cinci for Chapman and Edmonds just because I can see him getting traded in the off season. First game coming soon!

Started an Astros franchise and have made the following moves one month into the season:

Traded Pedro Feliz for Ben Revere
Traded Geoff Blum for Andres Blanco
Traded Cory Sullivan for Chris Snyder
Traded Chris Johnson and Brandon Lyon for Blake DeWitt and Scott Elbert
Traded Jason Michaels for James McDonald
Traded Carlos Lee for Jared Mitchell and Dayan Viciedo
Traded Lance Berkman, Michael Bourn, and Brian Moehler for BJ Upton, Jeremy Hellickson and Sean Rodriguez.
Traded Brett Myers for Gaby Sanchez

My lineup now looks like this:
              Upton CF
              DeWitt 3B
              Sanchez 1B
              Pence RF

              Rodriguez 2B
              Mitchell LF

                Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

After leaving this game on the shelf for a few months I decided to start a new franchise as the New York Yankees. I traded for Jacoby Ellsbury to lead off my lineup and Buster Posey to be catcher so could make Posada the permanent DH. Here's how my first series went against Boston.

Game 1: C.C. Sabathia Vs. Jon Lester
-This was a pitchers duel which unfortunately I lost when Adrian Beltre got a walk off hit to score Pedroia who had tripled with two outs in the bottom of the 9th

Game 2: A.J. Burnette Vs. Josh Beckett
-All over the place. I got a two run home run with Granderson in the second after being down 1-0 but they quickly retaliated and got two to make it 3-2. Then Nick Swisher belted a 3 run shot to make it 6-3 which knocked Beckett out for Wakefield. Boston got another run to make it 6-4. By the time I decided to pull A.J. out in the 7th thescore was 7-6 Yankees which I was able to keep with the help of Marte, Chamberlain and Rivera.

Game 3: Andy Pettite Vs. Clay Bucholz
-By far the best game of the three. Andy Pettite was lights out for 9 innings getting 8 K's in a game which I won 2-0.

I am now 34-39 with the Mets and am 6.5 back from the Marlins. I have my final game with the Twins and then I start a three game series with the marlins and then a 4 game series with the second place nationals. So big games coming up for me.

                      Re: MLB 2K10 Franchise Progress

Just had a really annoying interleague series as my Tigers at the Dodgers. First game I was blown out 9-3, it was 9-0 until I was able to squeeze in a few sympathy runs in the 8th. Armando Galarraga sucks in my franchise...

Game 2 of the series was better, I had a 3-1 lead into the 6th when they scored 2 to tie it 3-3. They brought in Dotel in the top of the 9th and Brennan Boesch smacked a bases loaded, 2 out, full count fastball off the outfield wall for a 3 run double. Valverde was able to pick up a rare 1-2-3 save to give me the 6-3 win. The teams combined for 32 hits.

Game 3 was a similar script. Verlander carried a perfect game into the 5th but ended up allowing a run on 3 hits in the inning to tie it 1-1. Brandon Inge broke the tie with a 2 run homer to give me a 3-1 lead. I pulled Verlander in the 8th with 2 out and runners on 1st and 3rd to get a lefty-lefty matchup. Brad Thomas allowed both runners to score and went to extra innings before I lost in the 11th. After a certain point in the game I knew I would lose, Miguel Cabrera was 0-5 with 5 groundouts, nobody could do anything after about the 6th or 7th inning and it felt pretty futile. Oh well.

Just started a Franchise with the Atlanta Braves.
I signed Gary Sheffield off of free agency and traded Freeman for Lind at 1B.
Just finished the opening series against the Cubs and took 2 of 3 games. I am going to play all 162 games, every pitch, every at bat.

crazy 2 game series with Seattle!! I was up 9-6 in the 9th inning and allowed 7 runs in the 9th inning and lose 13-9. Follow up game I am down 4-1 in the 9th and score 3 to tie the game and in the 11th inning I hit a 2 run HR with Boesh to win in walk off style. Now 27-27 with 50 games to go in the season 4.0 games back of Cleveland. 3 games behind Oakland in the Wildcard race. This game is still holding back my Madden franchise as I am playing this every stinking day

Time to complain again . Game against Seattle (apparently I'm at the same point in the schedule as stlstudios), we'll pick up in the top of the 13th, bases loaded no outs, Jhonny Peralta at the plate. I haven't had much success with him so I'm patient at the plate and I end up getting walked on 4 pitches to take a 3-2 lead. Weird how I can't get a clutch hit to save my life but I can get a clutch walk...

So bases still loaded & nobody out, brandon inge grounds to third, out recorded at home. Johnny Damon (in for Casper Wells) lines out to the pitcher. Alex Avila (in for Gerald Laird) flies out to straight away center. Ugh. You can already see this coming...

Bottom of the 13th, Valverde pitched the 11th and 12th innings and I didn't wanna press my luck so I bring in Ryan Perry to face Franklyn Gutierrez. First pitch single to left. Next batter Ichiro, first pitch single to center. Great, 2 pitches 2 hits. I take out Perry and bring in Phil Coke (already warmed up) to face Russell Branyon (lefty-lefty), and induce a ground ball right to Inge at third base, I step on the bag and then throw to 2nd. Something went wrong, despite performing the full throwing motion he never actually threw the ball AND the runner is erroneously declared safe at third. This is the second time I've had this glitch happen to me. Instead of having 2 outs and 1 on I'm stuck with bases loaded and nobody out. Sheldon Buck singles to left, tied game 3-3. Milton Bradley lines out to the pitcher, 1 out...is there a prayer, a double play perhaps? Nope... Casey Kotchman flies out to center, but it's deep enough to score the run, game over

well I just spit with Balt. Verlander had a bad day allowing 6 ER in 4.1 innings. I came back and tied the game 7-7 in the 9th but, in the 11th Miner allowed a sac fly final score 8-7 now I am sitting at 28-28 and now 5.5 games back of Cleveland. Only 46 games left in the schedule I am thinking that I may have to win at least 30 of them to make the playoffs.
