Things are not going any better as I lost to the Twins in extra innings. Smoltz threw 5.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. game was tied 3-3 and Phil Coke allowed the winning runs across in the 10th.
I am now 29-30 with 1 game left before the All Star break. things are not looking good in Detroit.

Am I the only one still playing? I am 30-32 with the Tigers. Every time I can even my record I blow a freaking game. Sitting at 30-32 with 42 game left to play. 6 games back of Cleveland and 3 games back of the wild card. A 28-14 finish will most likely get me into the playoffs with a 58-46 record. I think the worst I can finish is 55-49 so I have to win at least 25 of 42. It's possible but the more series I split the less and less likely the playoffs start to look.

1-3 with the Twins. Pitching needs work. Got Chicago in a three game series next.

I think just about everyone shelfed this game when NCAA 11 and Madden 11 came out. Franchise is almost unplayable after Year 1. Unless you just like to play the games. But it gets very unrealistic after Year 1. No FA, players sign for a 1/4 of what they make in real life. There are no CPU CPU trades, you basically have to control all 30 to have some hope in getting deep into your franchise.

well the games are fun to play for me and I figure I will only have time to finish one season before MLB 2k12 comes out. GO TIGERS!!

I just won the World Series with the New York Yankees, but am peeved that I didn't unlock the achievement for it. And I played about 60+ of those games...I don't know whether to start from the beginning, or to clear the cache beforehand like I've read on here before. So annoying....

Just had the same thing happen to me. I only played through a franchise to shoot for the achievement since playing the game on default Pro is painful and actually very difficult. The achievement said to play at least 20 games, and I played exactly 21 during the regular season as well as every post season game but the achievement still never unlocked. Pretty bummed about this waste of time.

My last save was from a game back in May. I simmed to the playoffs and simmed some of those games too. Finished 102-62,first obviously. Alverez went down shortly after I started simming and wasn't available until the NLCS. Pretty sure Jones will be MVP,dunno about any other awards though.

Twins beat the Yankees.
Pirates (me) beat the Mets.
Tigers beat the Angels.
Giants beat the Braves.

Twins sweep Tigers.
Pirates 4-1 over Giants. Only played the clinching game. Ironically enough I was up 2-1 in the 7th. They put in Romo. They lost 6-1.

Two questions, both most likely stupid.
Franchise wise, I'm playing as the Yankees.

1. In spring training, Rodriguez and Pettitte are not on the roster. Any reason for this?

2. I traded for Mike Napoli so I can use Posada as DH instead of Catcher. Is there anyway to assure he's automatically the DH in game lineups? Lineup only does position players.

My Braves Franchise got corrupted somehow and I was 32-30, in a 162 game season. GRRR!

Just started a new one with the Indians, this time only a 52 game season so I can actually get through it and rebuild. So far I am 2-5. Seems pretty realistic for the Indians if you ask me.

Just started a new one with the Indians, this time only a 52 game season so I can actually get through it and rebuild. So far I am 2-5. Seems pretty realistic for the Indians if you ask me.

That really sucks dude. I'm always afraid of that happening to me so when I played my 2k10 franchise I had a save of every single day. That way if it somehow got corrupted I would most likely not have to go back that far. If you have a flash drive or memory card you don't really use you can just save them on there. That's what I always did(using flash drive).

Well it has been awhile since I updated the forum!! The Rays finished their 52 game schedule, playing elimination baseball for the last 8 games of the season. However, after a five game winning streak we lost a heartbreaker to the Angels and Yankees that ended our playoff dreams.

We are now preparing for the 2011 campaign. Will keep everybody up-to-date to see what free agents we lose/gain etc.

Im new to 2k10 and is there any way to make the players you draft progress any faster? or how long does it take for them to get to potential rating? how do you make them progress?

started a new 'chise with LA. 2-3 so far but lots of hits and not a lot of runs. Using a hybrid set of sliders Marsh and bulls with power almost maxed out and hits lower. Any slider set recommendations from you guys? If I lower contact will I get fewer hits but too many strikeouts?

What I'm seeing: too many hits, rollers through infield and blooper types. It seems like the defensive alignment is wrong, the infield plays in too often and balls to the hole on get through easily. Scores with 1 run and 9 hits or even 3 runs on 14 hits by the cpu, so its happening on both sides!
