Struck out 20 in 9 innings of shut out work. Allowed only 5 hits. Best strike out performance so far. Using OS & BFJs slider set.

Not sure if I should switch at this point . . .

He's 78 overall with four pitches all 74+ (fastball, change up, curve, and slider).

EDIT: Sort of pissed that I didn't save any of the replays. I have a few of Adrian Gonzalez from a previous game, but nothing from the 20 game. Ugh.

Does anybody ever get a hit n run pitch where they can actually hit? My hit n run pitches are always way off the strike zone. Waste of a challenge.

I've gotten HnR that I can hit before. It does suck when they throw them out of the zone though.

Pitched another gem against the Brewers. However, on my next start, went 6.1 and gave up 5 ER against the Braves. Ugh . . .

          6.1 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 6 K

          Got too cocky.

I was one game away from getting bumped up to the Majors when out of nowhere I gave up 12 runs in one inning. I have no idea what happened but 7 games later I managed to get into the Majors as the Cubs and throw a decent starter game. My ERA was around 3 and I walked one. Cubs ended up winning 7-4 so i'm pretty excited for my next start.

            This mode is very addicting.

If the pitch is poor I usually just take it. I can handle not getting the 10 points over either hitting into a double play or grounding out weakly. A HnR on the first pitch rarely happens anyway, so I figure I'll just pretend the guy is stealing. But anyway, I usually get a pitch I can at least foul off or hit somewhere. I don't think it's a waste of a challenge because it's about as hit and miss as "Get an Extra Base hit".

I'm with the poster above. I don't waste my time with any challenges except when I'm on base and they ask me to hit and run.

I'm in my third season, my team didn't resign Pujols due to the debt (every team is under $180M). Damn. Maybe I should wait for patch? Hope this is fixed in the next one. Otherwise, sort of unplayable.

Bud, I'm not playing on pro level. While I agree that I should bump it up to the highest level, I'm not playing on pro level.

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread

So I've got to be the streakiest hitter ever. I'm in Spring training in my second year with my SS in the Pirates organization, and I've been struggling to hit for average ever since I came up to the MLB. However, my power numbers have been pretty solid as I hit 10 HRs through about 20 games for a total of 16 RBIs. That being said, my average was still howevering around .250. My biggest problem has been LHPing as my player is left handed. Just like real life, as a lefty hitter I'm having trouble distinguishing pitches against these LHers and I swing at junk out of the zone. It didn't help that I faced only LHP for a week straight--including the relief pitchers.

Anyway, last night I settle in to play some games and continue my struggles. I went 0-14 at one point with 6 Ks. I was ready to throw in the towel as my AVG continued to plummet to the Mendoza line.

Then my guy made a complete 180. I went 3-5, 2-6, and 5-6 in my next three. The coolest thing though was I had never had a multi-HR game with my player. It seemed like when I did hit a HR, I was completely incapable of repeating it no matter how accurate I thought my swing was.

Well that all changed in the 5-6 game. First AB: Solo HR, second AB: Grand Slam, third AB: 3-run HR, fourth AB: 2-run HR, fifth AB: single, sixth AB: flyout. In total, I finished 5-6 with 4 HRs, 10 RBIs, and raised my AVG to .306 for the first time in my young career! Because I tied the HR record and maybe the RBI record, I finished with over 2,100 batting points for the game! Now when I get home from this evening I can start to apply those points and make my guy a stud

I'm having so much fun experiencing the highs and lows of this mode. It's SO addicting.

reo seems to be the thing even worse the free agents that don't sign with my player's team if they are good sit in FA all year. Jayson Werth wins MVP 2010, sits in FA 2011. Ryan Howard 94 overall has been in FA all of 2012 for me.... just dumb honestly and apparently the trade feature causes some games to freeze. So I have to stay on a team that is slowly becoming terrible.

Exactly. Ugh. I can't seem to find Pujols though. I've checked Free Agents and he's not there. I'll take another look again later. Maybe I missed him.

This seems like an issue, but I probably wouldn't even have noticed had you guys not mentioned it on here. I just focus on my guy really and nothing else that's going on (except for the fact that Rick Ankiel is #1 in the MVP race and I'm #2 with nearly double his stats and a BA about .100 points higher). I notice the guys on my team, but that's about it. I may have noticed no Pujols on the Cards when my Royals play them a few times a year, but that would have been my only way of noticing. Seems like the "Budget" is an issue all over this game. I wish they'd just give us an option to turn the thing off.

If only it were that easy. I'm in year two. Just got my splitter (71 atm). I'm going to continue, but . . . ugh. No Pujols. I'm a pitcher. I need that bat. Well, I guess it's time for me to Babe Ruth (power).

                                Quick My Player Baserunning question:

Can anyone tell me what the 'Awareness" and "Aggressiveness" skills do when I'm actually controlling my guy? I know what they'd do during SIM, but not when I'm in control, if anything.
