Just clinched a spot in the World Series in my rookie season. Got pulled up at the end of July. Ended up playing about 60 regular season games, hit .330 with 22 HRs and 65 RBIs. In the postseason, just like the regular season, I started out very slow, ended up hitting like .170 after the first few playoff games, but since then, I've started to get it going. I think I'm hitting about .320 now with 4 HRs (3 in the NLCS).

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread

Just won the division on the last day of the season. It was a 3 team race down the stretch and really nobody wanted the division. I finished the season 2 games above .500 2 games in front of the Angels and 4 in front of Seattle. My last 7 games as the As were @ LAA and @Seattle and I got 2/3 and 3/4. Was disappointed not to see any kind of division clinching celebration but it was really intense going into the last week of the season in a pennant race. Also, my team blew a 3 run lead in the 9th and a 2 run lead in the ninth in late Sept to make it interesting.

I now have to play Boston in the first round and I played the first game and Beckkett dominated me, I went 0/4 3k's. I was only good vs AL West teams and anything vs AL East/central I most of the time lost the series. Not sure how far I will get but so far the game mode has been really fun. I almost want to get traded in the offseason over to the NL just to check out all the NL parks next year. I've played in most AL parks in my division but since I was called up in July not all of them. I do love playing CF in this game because when you run down the ball in the outfield, the stadium design of the game really stands out and it's really cool to play in the diff stadium configurations.

After my playoffs end, I am gonna force myself to take a break from the game. It's too addictive right now and with the weather getting better, I want to maybe play some REAL LIFE baseball outside

Just finished my first year and Pujols was actually re-signed by the Cards. It was a 6 year deal worth only $21 mil, but he's not on the FA list.

6 year 21 mil as in about 3 mil a year? wow that's sad.

How are you guys managing to check free agency? I've looked pretty hard, and I can't find it anywhere!

Just got named World Series MVP in my rookie season. Played the last 60 games of the regular season, ended up finishing 2nd in the NL RotY voting even though my numbers were by far the best. Hit .330 22 HRs 65 RBIs 12 SB in only 67 games. Hit .345 9 HRs 27 RBIs in the playoffs to win WS MVP.

Very sad, but at least he wasn't sitting on the FA list the entire season. I don't care about realistic salaries in My Player anyway, but it's something that needs to be fixed.

Oh, and I promptly traded myself to the Cards to play with Pujols. I can see the headlines now: "Stupidity Reigns In KC: AL MVP Traded To Cards For Next To Nothing."

I couldn't find it either. I had to look in the transactions area to find that Pujols was resigned by the Cards.

So, to keep it realistic, I must play in STL for 6 years before I'm eligible for FA? I've done two (half season in the minors, one full season) . . .

                    This is correct, right?

Our new first basemen isn't too bad (rookie). 50+ CON vs. L/R, 80+ POW vs L/R.

Welcome brother. Raise those pants, show off those socks. Haha.

I'm likely going to lose Carpenter next year (1 year contract). It's going to break up the 2K gas house gang.

I have a sinking feeling that pitcher ability in this game really doesn't mean anything in My Player. I had a few games where I noticed my team was down 6-0 in the 2nd and I thought, "who the heck is on the mound? Hochevar?" when it was really Greinke out there getting shelled. I'm going to set Aramis Ramirez as my "FA To Target" to get weak hitting Crede out of the lineup.

I may have to bump up the difficulty next season.

I'm batting .429, 20 HR, 67 RBI's in only 70 games. 3rd in the Rookie of the year voting.

I think you've got to me one of your team's top three players. At least, that's when I became able to do it.

well i just screwed myself. Lost to boston in the first round. so thought I turned off autosave to see what I can do w/ the game. autosave was off but i guess it doesnt work like that. i got myself simmed thru the spring and fooled around getting traded to another team. I did that, but when i played the next game, i was watching my old team the As play with me not even in the lineup. I guess you have to watch the whole game, wtf! I quit and it saved the game automatically to career! so whenever I load it, i have to sit thru that game. Well enough is enough, erased the career file. should have backed it up, my fault, but I guess it was meant to be. This game mode is too addictive and it had to be killed accidently i guess for me to move on. Maybe I will start over in a few months but I'm done for now. Great mode, Fun Game, I'll follow you guys on here with your MY PLAYER stories!
