Riddle me this: Why do I LOSE my clutch moment if I take a walk? Shouldn't it cancel itself out? Sometimes you have to take a walk or you're swinging at crap out of the zone.... like I had to do earlier so I wouldn't get a negative clutch moment and I ended up grounding out. If anything, it should cancel out if I take a walk, since I'm not hurting the club by getting out.

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I couldn't resist so started another MY PLAYER from scratch.
First thing I noticed, which I did not in my A's MY Player was that you could press Yellow to let the cpu randomly assign you to a team, i.e. draft. I didnt notice this when I started my first My Player so glad to see it was there. But I went and picked my Giants for my team.
This time since I knew what I was doing, I made a great hitter. I ended up batting .421, 26 hrs, and in the playoffs I hit 8 hrs in 16 games. With those regular season stats, I finished 3rd for ROY and wasn't even considered for MVP. It's weird because my A's player from the previous franchise was a decent player and won ROY, no where close to my Giants player.
I ended up sweeping the Phils in the first round, winning in 7 games vs the brewers, but got dominated by the Yankees in the WS losing in 5 games. It was a 5 game sweep because I only pulled out game two because the CPU decided to score 5 runs in the 9th inning vs the Yankees that game.
The big news was I hit in 74 straight games and destroyed Dimaggio's record. I broke the record on the 3rd to last day of the season and carried it over in the playoffs. I don't know if when the next season starts if it the streak starts over at zero or continues from 74. I will up the difficulty to the next level once I start spring training.
One good thing was I did see 3 errors in the games I played. All 3 were the outfielder dropping the ball. Another gripe I had was whenever I got on base, none of the guys that followed me went deep. Finally in one of the WS games I got a single and the guy behind me finally hit a HR. So it is rare I guess.
Game is still addictive. But I did like starting over from the minors for this player. Again, it's time to up the difficulty.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
One thing I noticed in the mlb records is that for HR Season, they have McGwire with 70, not Bonds with 73. That is bs. Why pick one cheater over another? If they wanted to not recognize cheaters, then just put Maris as the record holder with 61.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
No Bonds was in baseball videogames like High Heat 2003/2004 and one of the MVPs and some other games. But he op'd out of the Players Association around 2005 I believe so since 2005 he hasn't been in any games. But he's retired now so of course he won't be in any game, but they still could have put in SF GIANTS OF 73 HRs or something similar like other games have done. That would have been the correct way to go. It seems like they are choosing one cheater over another.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Any reference or likeness of Barry Bonds in a video game without his permission (him wanting some kind of amount of money) could result in him suing 2k sports. Which knowing gay *** bonds, he would try. It's not one cheater over another it's just the way it is. So get over it.Comment

No disrespect intended by me, but why chance a lawsuit by even mentioning the player's name or likeness?
It sucks that this is what it has all came to, but that's the reality of it.
I think you're taking it a little bit too personal.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Nope. Other than just letting yourself get bombed, there is no way around it.I am thoroughly enjoying My Player as a starting pitcher with one exception. I always end up pitching all 9 innings despite having only 60 Stamina. In fact just today I pitched 2 complete 12 inning games in consecutive starts! So is there any way to force myself out of games other than intentional suckage?
I was really enjoying it too, but I just got tired of it. My rookie year, I made 31 starts and had over 250 innings pitched... As a 20-year-old. The breaking point was when I was left in for 15 innings and throwing 170+ pitches. After that, I was done.
I understand getting more innings to build up more skill points, but that's just ridiculous.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
My CF in My Player has 95 speed with 96 acceleration and I had four stolen bases in 17 attempts. So, I cheesed and put the user baserunning slider to 85. I still get gunned down if I get a bad jump, but I'd say I am successful 70 to 80 percent of the time now, which is how it should be with that type of speed.I feel like the game is going oblivion on me in that it's leveling up with me!
I'm now 93 speed and 90 acceleration and it's harder than ever to steal. 2 outs runner on 3rd I'm on first used to be automatic steal and now that I'm a great player I'm getting thrown out on 2nd in this situation. I'm also getting way more difficult fielding situations.
The stealing though is a problem. One time I uploaded a vid to 2k simply because the pitcher actually balked and picked me off. I timed a steal perfectly and almost thought i went to soon, but tapped the right trigger again as the pitcher was about to release the ball towards home and his arm bended back and he started running at me
It looked hilarious and i was in awe how stupid it was.
Unless you get a perfect jump, forget it, and even if you do, sometimes the game slows down your runner as he approaches and you're out because the game didn't want you to steal. To me this is the biggest problem with the game and I'd be lying if I said it isn't really pissing me off.
just to clear up one thing I always have 3 step leadoff from first.
Upping the baserunning slider is the only thing that worked. It helps even out the fact that every single throw by the CPU, without fail and from their knees, is right on the money.
I also hate when the game slows you down on a steal. I get great jumps trying to steal third and sometimes, it seems like the game just glitches out and I am out by three feet. Pretty frustrating.Comment

When I started my player and I got lit up with 5ER/8H but they left me in the game. Sometimes they take me out and sometimes they don't. Aside from that though this mode is pretty sweet. I said I wasn't going to buy this game but then watched all these videos about My Player mode and ended up buying it.
The only thing that sucks is I am a SP for the Bo Sox right now and I didn't play in AAA long enough before I finally upped my last attribute to be called up to the MLB so my pitcher is only a 68 overall but he has the 5th starting spot. Plus my first majors start was against the Yankees, I struck out 9 and allowed only 2ER over 9IP but ultimately lost. Right now I'm 6-1 with a .756ERA and 49Ks. Although I think I'm going to re-do my pitcher and wait until he has at least played a full year in the minors.Comment

need help please
So I have a problem. I love my player mode, made a 2B for the Rockies. Did very well in AA, got called up around mid-july, played rest of season and ended up with a 1 game playoff against Arizona. Well, we lost the playoff and didn't make the postseason and THAT"S IT. It didn't let me see the playoffs, and when I tried to go to next season, it gave me the option to play next event. When I chose that, it simmed all of 2011 and didn't let me do anything. I thought it was screwy, so I tried again, this time 2B for Texas. Same result. one game playoff, lost game, no 2011. I tried a SP for Atlanta, and we won the division and the World Series, and that one let me go to next season, but I don't want to pitch. Anyone have any idea what's going on?Comment
